But not a very patient one!
I've at least got a diagnosis, it's invasive ductal cancer grade 2, but still small, oestrogen receptive but looks as if I might get away with the lymph nodes....and maybe not too much treatment afterwards?
Complex plan, but to begin with, a sentinel node (plus another one or so) removal as day surgery, (a nuclear medicine visit first to get 'the jab' for them to trace) then a gap while that, plus the HER result come back, then because of my previous surgeries for cysts and the fact one resulted in a massive haematoma, therefore scar tissue, I will have a complete mastectomy with an implant. That will be immediately after Easter.
By finding out as much as possible beforehand, the surgeon hopes to prevent too many operations. Obviously I will then need Tamoxifen or similar, so will appreciate helpful advice about that.
But I'd be interested on anyone's 'take' on her plan. I feel reassured that she took time with me, and the BC nurse afterwards spent a good while too.

So glad all is well, Calador; yes we do worry, don’t we? It seems as if once we are on this track then each and every bump gets magnified to be more of it! I’m pretty certain mine are a mixture of the mesh sutures (which had to be done twice, due to the bleeding) and probably scar tissue too. But my anxious side is convinced it’s dodgy!
Seaspirit, hope your concert went really well and you feel happy with how it went too (not always the same as I know very well!)
AnnJac, I’m sure the gap will be ok, and the radiotherapy is a type of ‘belt and braces’ approach.
Hugs to all of you xxx

Projects in the garden are involving us today, a lovely chunky wooden garden bench which sits in shade in the hottest part of the day has been looking shabby, so it’s getting 3 coats of outdoor preservative paint, and i’m getting rid of a big potted plant which stands just outside the sliding glass door, and replacing it with another; it’s really pot bound so is taking a while to loosen off.
3 loads of washing are also busy drying outside, it’s lovely when you can do that, smells so fresh.
So great to have lovely weather when you’ve time to work outside!

Thank you moomy. I enjoyed it, but I have to say it was not a good performance. Tempi and dynamics were not correct. The soprano fluffed some of her high notes, the tenor was a bit weak, the chorus sopranos were flat, and the tenor chorus had mixed top notes! The basses came in late for some of their entries, ( no DH did not sing with thrm this time) ! The organist was behind us some of the time, and the conductor had to stop just before the Domine Jesu and start again! Having said all that, the audience seemed to love it, and it is glorious music and a pleasure to sing. Xxx
Onwards and flatwards (don't do hills) and keep walking if you can!
Hi Moomy. Wishing you well at the allergy clinic today. Hope they don't put you through too much.
Take care
So; report from allergy clinic, histamine worked. Control (water) no reaction.
first pin prick test, minimal reaction, second slightly higher dose pinprick test, minimal reaction, so then the small injection; yes I reacted to Clarithromycin (knew I would) but possibly also to penicillin v, possibly not to amoxicillin, so they suggested giving me an oral dose and monitoring me for an hour.
Unfortunately the registrar was a) very softly spoken and b) her communication skills were not great partly due to a fairly hefty accent. By the time it was realised they were going to close the unit for the afternoon so not possible to have me there for a further hour! ‘Could I come back please?’ NO WAY! it’s a 86 mile round trip, plus anything up to an hour to find a car park place, so I asked if that could be done at my GP’s. She said sometimes they can, so I insisted they put that in the letter and ask! At least she did apologise for her mistakes!
Then, around 4pm, we had lunch (fortunately I’d taken some with us) as we’d made it there by just after 12 for the 1pm appointment.
all in all, an unmitigated ******-up! The joys of the NHS, eh?
