It seems I'm a patient now!

But not a very patient one!

I've at least got a diagnosis, it's invasive ductal cancer grade 2, but still small, oestrogen receptive but looks as if I might get away with the lymph nodes....and maybe not too much treatment afterwards?

Complex plan, but to begin with, a sentinel node (plus another one or so) removal as day surgery, (a nuclear medicine visit first to get 'the jab' for them to trace) then a gap while that,  plus the HER result come back, then because of my previous surgeries for cysts and the fact one resulted in a massive haematoma, therefore scar tissue, I will have a complete mastectomy with an implant. That will be immediately after Easter.

By finding out as much as possible beforehand, the surgeon hopes to prevent too many operations. Obviously I will then need Tamoxifen or similar, so will appreciate helpful advice about that.

But I'd be interested on anyone's 'take' on her plan. I feel reassured that she took time with me, and the BC nurse afterwards spent a good while too.

  • Aww, Eddiboy, I’ve been thinking about Flossie too, hope all has gone totally according to plan!

Tried vinegar, it isn’t really helping much, bite is still angry and itchy/sore, cuss the little pests!

Tomorrow it’s just the two of us at the Bombe and it’s the longest time in 11years it’s been down and not able to run, hope they manage to mend it as we’ve a challenge coming up in September. Then daughter and her housemate are coming up Sunday for the day, yay!

    Hugs to all xxx

  • Sounds as though you’re all having a fab time. Hope it’s not too hot where you are.

I’m fine. Had a couple of more nodes sent off so a couple of extra things to to get results of.

Hope the infection is clearing . Is op a week on Monday?

Hope your aches and pains aren’t too bad and . Hope you’re on your antihistamine for that bite .  Sudacrem might help or cooling aloe Vera gel.

How are your ears .... hope your friend is improving.

Off to seaside for a walk soon

    hugs xx

  • Glad you are doing okay  Did you have your mx as well as the nodes or is that still to come.  Yes my op is a week on Monday - almost all gone just a mini but left.  Enjoy the seaside xxx

  • Thanks ....hope your nodes results are favourable xxx let us know xx

  • Hi ... presume you’re talking about your nodes being nearly all gone.... yes had mx ... needed to get it gone... will see how I feel after results. I’m hoping to get to seaside when OH gets a move on. Xx

  • Good luck with the results  Heres hoping they dont take as long as your last lot aerhhhhh

Sorry two more questions if I may, my dear  (the op is upper most in my mind ....) Did you need to stay overnight in hospital and have you drains.  My surgeon said he may be able to do it with out them but Im not optimistic

My OH is hopeless at getting a wiggle on... usually watching something on youtube. Best get to the seaside before everyone else pinches the parking spots  xxx

  • I’m expecting it to be 3 weeks for results @eddiboy.  I was in overnight drain out next day xx

  • Well done as says, take it easy. And I bet you are glad its done (on one level).  Make sure you look after your mental health too.!!!

On my rash, I would say it has 99% gone under my arm. BUT, bleeping hell, its just started again today under the actual boob. So slathering myself in the cream there now (just been out to by a bigger tube).  Think it was triggered by my trying out a new crop top bra I bought for post mx and taking the dog out for a walk in it.....too much heat and friction.  Arhhh!! Will have to call the BCN on Monday.

  • and thank you ... definitely the mental health is important but I can  have a breather until results then see how I am, probably get a bit fitter, maybe lose some more weight and reconsider everything.

Your rash is on walkabout although you could be right about the heat and friction. Just keep slapping the cream on.

    xx
