But not a very patient one!
I've at least got a diagnosis, it's invasive ductal cancer grade 2, but still small, oestrogen receptive but looks as if I might get away with the lymph nodes....and maybe not too much treatment afterwards?
Complex plan, but to begin with, a sentinel node (plus another one or so) removal as day surgery, (a nuclear medicine visit first to get 'the jab' for them to trace) then a gap while that, plus the HER result come back, then because of my previous surgeries for cysts and the fact one resulted in a massive haematoma, therefore scar tissue, I will have a complete mastectomy with an implant. That will be immediately after Easter.
By finding out as much as possible beforehand, the surgeon hopes to prevent too many operations. Obviously I will then need Tamoxifen or similar, so will appreciate helpful advice about that.
But I'd be interested on anyone's 'take' on her plan. I feel reassured that she took time with me, and the BC nurse afterwards spent a good while too.

Oh goodness, that’s a big job, Santababy!
hubs has been sitting out most of the afternoon, stood up a few times, avoided a nap, but is now back in bed having done incredibly well for his first day. And he will hopefully get some sleep as he’s getting better trying to stay asleep while they do obs, I suspect he’s shattered!
we FaceTimed a short while ago and he looks amazing, again for his first day. He’s given me permission to fight his corner too, YAY!!!!
I need to get a changed orthopaedic appointment sorted, they could go and see him while he’s in there! (3 letters with the same information!!!! Left hand and right hand!)
I need to get the Renal stuff on the move, and also dietician advice for coming home (potassium? Soft? Amounts?) as of course I have to order in advance!
More power to my elbow, I know!

hubs yesterday said he’d been helped to have a good wash, not easy to do it yourself when you’ve a good number of tubes into each arm and one out of your nose! But he said it made him feel so much better!
I went to bed early, was in bed by just after 10.30, and ive SLEPT!!!! Ok I woke at 3-ish and worried but firmly told myself to relax; next time I looked at the clock it was gone 7.30! that’s the longest I’ve slept in weeks.....!!!!!
no texts from hubs at all yet , I know he’s concerned that he doesn’t want to wake anyone, bless him, but we have all told him our phones are always on. But I hope he’s developing the knack of sleeping through obs; the only worry is blood sugar tests which at times they’ve had to do very often, that’s a pricked finger!

Had a text chat with hubs, he said night staff were really efficient so he just slept! I’m so relieved. He’s sent me a list of stuff he needs, and I’m going to try driving the van to deliver! There are a couple of places to park a long wheelbase vehicle.

Very well done!! Brave lady, I used to drive minibuses when I did part time youth work but the thought fills me with horror now! Must be very satisfying. And great that you’ve delivered stuff to hubby. Enjoy the rest of your day xxx
Thank you! Still shaking a bit from the stress of it! Getting his washing done now, though as he is at present there’s no desperate rush for that, he’s still in hospital gown due to so many tubes!
