But not a very patient one!
I've at least got a diagnosis, it's invasive ductal cancer grade 2, but still small, oestrogen receptive but looks as if I might get away with the lymph nodes....and maybe not too much treatment afterwards?
Complex plan, but to begin with, a sentinel node (plus another one or so) removal as day surgery, (a nuclear medicine visit first to get 'the jab' for them to trace) then a gap while that, plus the HER result come back, then because of my previous surgeries for cysts and the fact one resulted in a massive haematoma, therefore scar tissue, I will have a complete mastectomy with an implant. That will be immediately after Easter.
By finding out as much as possible beforehand, the surgeon hopes to prevent too many operations. Obviously I will then need Tamoxifen or similar, so will appreciate helpful advice about that.
But I'd be interested on anyone's 'take' on her plan. I feel reassured that she took time with me, and the BC nurse afterwards spent a good while too.

Just chatted as he phoned. The Gastric specialist has been to see him, they are planning endoscopy tomorrow probably afternoon, and will discuss him first thing. They think the bypass would be a bigger op but would give him longer and could be done while he’s still strong. Doc actually said to him cancer doesn’t like strong people!
they hope to biopsy while they do it so they know exactly what they are dealing with.
bless him, he’s bored but can’t concentrate much, has Private Eye which he loves normally, but even that is hard to concentrate on.

Glad there seems to be a plan in place now and hoping for a very successful outcome for you all. It sounds as if your lovely neighbour will come up trumps on the food front ! Hooray for good neighbours. As with all things take it all one step at a time and accept any help offered. Sending healing thoughts and hugs xx Kwissy
Very glad that things are moving forward moomy. Sort of good that he feels well enough to be bored, if you know what I mean! Definitely take up offers of help, particularly from your good neighbour chef! Love and hugs, HFxxxx
You must be slightly relieved he's getting bored moomy ..Glad to here there solid plans being made for things to move forward .
oo! Even better your neighbour not just lovely and kind but a chef ..bonus !
Take care
I wouldn’t be at all surprised if at some stage a meal appears!!!! They only moved during this last year but have done a lot and are so lovely! He’s actually a chef supervisor and supporter in some sort of chain so has mostly been furloughed, but I suspect he’s well qualified. One of the first things they did (I had to go out and was on my own and expected a parcel so asked if they could look out for it) was when they realised hubs was unwell, a note with their mobile numbers was through the door when I got back!

I was a naughty lady just now, popped to the hospital with clean clothes and an insulin pen for him, they hadn’t got anyone to take the bag to the ward so phoned and asked if I could, when I got there I managed to wangle to blow him a kiss! He’s having another transfusion.

Think I may have blotted my copybook doing it, but hey, he’s awaiting moving to a new ward..... hope my reputation doesn’t follow!
he’s bored, bless him, and yes it does show he’s healthy in mind - at least!
went out at 8 to wave a torch and as we have a Ring doorbell he piped up to ask what I was doing! He’s not been looking at news or anything as even though he’s bored he can’t be bothered, and I seem to remember that’s incredibly normal!

The latest news after the big MDT meeting is they’ve decided to give him more time by operating (while he’s still strong enough to stand it) and do a bypass. That means tomorrow or Friday I guess as they will want to ensure there’s an intensive care bed.
that means if he copes through we might be able to get him home sometime next week.
In other news, (we’ve slept in separate rooms as with the spinal arthritis he’s so restless) and his room was a mess so daughter is driving up to help me sort and clean! He’s been awfully naughty and hoarded stuff so it’s taking a while! We will mask up and windows will be open, we won’t be in the same room at the same time but I do need some help (still achey after last weeks fall!)
