But not a very patient one!
I've at least got a diagnosis, it's invasive ductal cancer grade 2, but still small, oestrogen receptive but looks as if I might get away with the lymph nodes....and maybe not too much treatment afterwards?
Complex plan, but to begin with, a sentinel node (plus another one or so) removal as day surgery, (a nuclear medicine visit first to get 'the jab' for them to trace) then a gap while that, plus the HER result come back, then because of my previous surgeries for cysts and the fact one resulted in a massive haematoma, therefore scar tissue, I will have a complete mastectomy with an implant. That will be immediately after Easter.
By finding out as much as possible beforehand, the surgeon hopes to prevent too many operations. Obviously I will then need Tamoxifen or similar, so will appreciate helpful advice about that.
But I'd be interested on anyone's 'take' on her plan. I feel reassured that she took time with me, and the BC nurse afterwards spent a good while too.

I hope hubs potassium behaves and stays down so he can get a timely transfusion/scan moomy You will definitely be sore/stiff after falling off a stool. It’s good your GP nurse is looking after you. I had scan yesterday and have an initial physio phone appt booked in for the end of this month then lymphoedema nurse April 8th. It was lovely you got a caring letter from your breast surgeon. How is your swelling now?

Hi Flossie25, swelling isn’t bad at all, I think the day of 3x firm massage helped, and I guess the aches I’ve got now have totally taken my mind off it too!
Glad you’ve got appointments sorted out and hope they really help.
I looked up nebulised drugs and it’s simply salbutamol, and yes it does lower potassium levels, I didn’t know that! Clever! But he also had a calcium based drink which he said was horrible but will stick with it as long as it works, having some squash to take the taste away afterwards! I popped in a squash concentrate for him as I know he hates plain water!

Thank you Flossie25, yes I did sleep a few hours, thankfully. Poor hubs didn’t get much I fear.
He’s now had 2units of blood, they decided on some heparin too just in case of any clotting. His Hb was 5.9 before they started. It seems the scan now needs to be minus contrast as they think his kidneys won’t cope.
he says it’s all gone a bit quiet now.....(but it is weekend!)
I took in some clean clothes and a few bits he wanted, he got that delivered an hour or so later, has had a wash and change.

Good news on the whole then moomy and hope your Hubs starts to get the improvement from the blood. I have my fingers crossed that his scan is able to go ahead tomorrow. Hope your arm isn't still leaking to much but glad you have got some spare dressings to hand. Take care , both of you Sending gentle hugs Kwissy
At least he says he feels in safe hands while there, which is good.

doesnt stop the worry though

I am taking care, and eating. It was a concern as it felt too much to bother, but I had some minced beef which needed using, so I opened a tin of beans in chilli sauce and it had been bubbling away for a couple of hours. Daughter and partner popped by to sit on chairs on the drive, they are going to buy a house further north, and I heard all about it, we are about half way between the old and new properties. It seems to be going ahead, full survey this next week.
so I sat in the van and we chatted for a bit. I’ve offered to have Henry-pup during removal, and as they will need to make the garden dog proof in a couple of places they were very grateful.
I had been foraging earlier in the afternoon (I’m a country girl at heart) and picked nettle tops which I wilted down (it’s like spinach but a bit more earthy in taste) and had those with a microwave spud and some of the chilli.
my bum feels just a touch easier this evening thank goodness!
