It seems I'm a patient now!

But not a very patient one!

I've at least got a diagnosis, it's invasive ductal cancer grade 2, but still small, oestrogen receptive but looks as if I might get away with the lymph nodes....and maybe not too much treatment afterwards?

Complex plan, but to begin with, a sentinel node (plus another one or so) removal as day surgery, (a nuclear medicine visit first to get 'the jab' for them to trace) then a gap while that,  plus the HER result come back, then because of my previous surgeries for cysts and the fact one resulted in a massive haematoma, therefore scar tissue, I will have a complete mastectomy with an implant. That will be immediately after Easter.

By finding out as much as possible beforehand, the surgeon hopes to prevent too many operations. Obviously I will then need Tamoxifen or similar, so will appreciate helpful advice about that.

But I'd be interested on anyone's 'take' on her plan. I feel reassured that she took time with me, and the BC nurse afterwards spent a good while too.

  • Good luck to your daughter @ oomy, that really is unacceptable.xx

Onwards and flatwards (don't do hills) and keep walking if you can!

  • Hi - sorry you got the warning!I I hope EH come up with some help for them ,constant high noise levels aren't great at the best of times , but somehow intermittent ones are worse. Hope the work is soon completed. Hugs, for your daughter too . xx

  • It’s all been quiet, text-wise, so I hope they are all ok and dog has been calmer.....

a good friend of our two lost her dad early today. So I think they are probably both feeling upset on her behalf. I messaged her too this morning to send my love. So sad, he had been a County Ambulance Service boss, a lovely man,  had been in good health but had pneumonia and a cardiac episode which affected his brain and he became psychotic. Was admitted, got Covid and last night had a massive cardiac arrest.

    how fleeting is life.

  • Just had a shock, hubs said he didn’t feel well.....1) thermometer, normal, 2) blood sugar check, 2.8, biscuits and then a chunk of cheese, 3) O2 sats 94 (just) but it was definitely a hypo. Too much insulin after lunch.
    aaaaand breathe!

  • And we are both fine, temps and O2 sats normal.

This morning we both get our Covid jabs, just hope the Landy driver door lock (it’s ‘died’) behaves well enough! It will get replaced as another has been already, when it goes in for service and MOT next week. It’s been a pain, if it latches it tries to jump open again especially when it’s cold weather. I’ve been on at hubs to get it replaced for a bit but typically he said it’s not a problem! Now that he’s battled with it a few times it’s going to get done!
