It seems I'm a patient now!

But not a very patient one!

I've at least got a diagnosis, it's invasive ductal cancer grade 2, but still small, oestrogen receptive but looks as if I might get away with the lymph nodes....and maybe not too much treatment afterwards?

Complex plan, but to begin with, a sentinel node (plus another one or so) removal as day surgery, (a nuclear medicine visit first to get 'the jab' for them to trace) then a gap while that,  plus the HER result come back, then because of my previous surgeries for cysts and the fact one resulted in a massive haematoma, therefore scar tissue, I will have a complete mastectomy with an implant. That will be immediately after Easter.

By finding out as much as possible beforehand, the surgeon hopes to prevent too many operations. Obviously I will then need Tamoxifen or similar, so will appreciate helpful advice about that.

But I'd be interested on anyone's 'take' on her plan. I feel reassured that she took time with me, and the BC nurse afterwards spent a good while too.

  • , I believe tiger poo is effective, suspicious of the electronic ones, but where to get tiger poo? I see them pooing on the front garden (cats not tigers!!!!) and not covering it! We call the maurauding car 'cooking fat'!

Onwards and flatwards (don't do hills) and keep walking if you can!

  • Ah , hope your hip improves!xxxx

  • I’ve tried lion poo ... a real tiger in the garden would work big time Joy  I’ve also scattered orange peel ... to no avail. The electronic gadget seems to work...or it may only appear to sometimes. Cats aren’t daft !!  What about a cat cut out with bright eyes that glow in the dark !!??

... hope your hip is improving

@eddiboy ... pleased you were ok on the cushions overnight... tissue paper has so many uses Joy

    off out to shops......

    xx

  • Hi Flossie,

we've got those electric noise scarers, for a while some of the neighbourhood cats braved it out but when we added mesh to our planting they decided enough was enough I think! They still use the garden as a short cut (or maybe just use the wall/fences) but don’t seem to poo there any more, phew! Nothing worse than weeding and getting a handful of it!

ps, I like all animals, even cats, but not those that poo in my garden!

  • , glad the cushions weren't too bad. What ear.plugs do you use? I have special ones for swimming obtain pained from the hospital, very good, keep most of the water and sound out. Love Grey's Anatomy too, but went off it a bit when Patrick Dempsey left.

, sorry your trip was postponed, and hope that hip is improving. Sounds familiarly like Letrozole to me, but agree with the others to get it checked if does not improve.

Thanks for the cat repellant tips, , and , and enjoy your post Christmas family time . Xxxx

  • Well,

I made the right decision .While I was in the bank standing for AGES in the queue,I felt very sorry for myself as I couldn't put my bags down,as it hurt too much to bend down to lift them up....and coming back down the road (no car)with food shopping, limping.

goodness knows how going across Brum with a case would have been!!

only other cancer sufferers know ,it is not all over when its over!!

shame cos I have been on my own all over Christmas except seeing my neph and neice....Am trying hard and praying not to get bitter...how ugly bitterness is!!xxx

so...it’s watching Julie and Julia and enjoying the freedom to rest when I like or need to ...also got a cheeky little bag in the Shop which I have been waiting to be on Sale for months!!

    So,Happy Bunny!!xx

  • Hey Violetsniff, glad you got the bag in the sale! Makes waiting good when that happens!

Eddiboy, glad the cushions weren’t too bad, but pants with snoring!

    hugs to you all xxx
