Just thinking ladies, as we are all going through much the same journey that we should have a thread on here for crafts. I am sure there are lots of you knitting, crocheting, sewing etc to keep the dreaded side effects at bay and help us cope day to day.

I personally knit and have posted on here some of my knitting. Would be nice to see/hear what other people do. We could share pictures, hints and tips as well

So I will start with a couple of things I have done in the last few days.

This is my slouch hat that I finished on Friday night. Will be wearing it for the first time today!!

This was on the needles saturday night ......

And finished saturday night.    A little headband/earwarmer for my granddaughter.

I am now off to have my PICC line inserted ready for 2nd round of chemo tomorrow (!!!!!!):)

Hope to see lots of pics when I come back!!

Have a good day everyone  xx

  • So annoyed with this pattern. I have started it last night, have both the colours recommended and then find it is not intarsia knitting but bloody swiss darning for the spots on the elephant!!!

Not my strong point and prefer to knit in as many different colours as required.

The Monkey is intarsia so will be OK with that one.

Really p***es me off as they dont tell you until the end of the pattern

    Rant over!!!!

  • How annoying  Could you knit the spots in instead? I've been known to do that sort of thing. Takes a bit of patience to work out the patterning but isn't that difficult.

I love your paper piece quilt and 2 fingers up to the stuck up woman who said it was cheating!  Your quilt is really nice and you are very talented to.make this. I make rag quilts and when I mention it to traditional quilters they look at me as if to say thats not quilting but it is and it appeals to me more. I am proud of my crafts they are individual and represent me. Having chronic fatigue it takes me longer than most to complete them but I love to make things and have sold at fairs and markets in the past.

Will post some pics when I can work up the energy to get out of bed!

    Well done ladies!

  • Morning everyone. I guess you all have woken to the white stuff again. Have to admit it looks very pretty and is an excellent excuse to stay home and just knit, crochet, paint or do whatever your craft is.
I was beginning to think this group was no more or people weren’t interested as didn’t see any posts for ages Then I found they had all gone into my junk file. Was lovely reading what you have all been up to and was happy to see the group growing and thriving . I love all your pictures and what a fantastic crafty lot we are. A few have mentioned scraps or leftover yarn and what to do with them or wanting patterns. This link is all free patterns for knitting and crocheted things. Yes they do everything else as well but have masses of free patterns in every category.

I’m knitting dog coats for 2 rescue charities at the moment which is addictive as can make one in an evening. I also bought some lovely soft yarn to make some knockers. I do have a bit of an addiction to stash buying and found a very good site for it, woolwarehouse. My latest order:

Have a warm and happy Sunday all.

    Love and hugs

  • Hi Frances,

Love the doggie coats, thanks for the tip about woolwarehouse, just had a look on their site such a huge choice, not too far from me so worth a visit.

Also the free pattern site, is that where you got the dog coats from, I have loads of spare wool, so good way to use it up xxx
