Just thinking ladies, as we are all going through much the same journey that we should have a thread on here for crafts. I am sure there are lots of you knitting, crocheting, sewing etc to keep the dreaded side effects at bay and help us cope day to day.
I personally knit and have posted on here some of my knitting. Would be nice to see/hear what other people do. We could share pictures, hints and tips as well
So I will start with a couple of things I have done in the last few days.
This is my slouch hat that I finished on Friday night. Will be wearing it for the first time today!!
This was on the needles saturday night ......
And finished saturday night. A little headband/earwarmer for my granddaughter.
I am now off to have my PICC line inserted ready for 2nd round of chemo tomorrow (!!!!!!):)
Hope to see lots of pics when I come back!!
Have a good day everyone xx
Hi Optimistic. I've only just seen your post about your arm aches. I went to the doctor the first two times but haven't bothered since, now I'm sure what it is. He told me to use voltarin gel (possibly a different name in the UK but an anti inflammatory gel. If I were you I'd get it checked at least this first time.
I found it I found it
I knew I had a pic somewhere
This was my last major project. Doing a smaller version from nephew's son with farm animals. Paper piece quilting. Though local snobby sewing shop lady said it was cheating!!!! She's still alive and the bruising has gone down!
It covers daughter's double bed

Life is like a boxing match, defeat is declared not when you fall ..... But when you refuse to stand up again ....... So, I get knocked down but I get up again. x
Hey Optimistic Kacang
The UK version is Voltarol. I use it as a top up for the cocodamol. Neither completely relieves my hand pain on it's own.
There is also Ibuprofen gel.
Or, what has worked for me in the past is a H&B product called Blue Ease. It stinks and tastes vile if you forget and aren't careful when blowing your nose.
Tiger Balm is another, works for hubby.
And everyone else on this thread - WOW you are all so talented!!
I'm useless with hand held needles of any kind. Give me a sewing machine and I'll make whatever you like!! I couldn't find a wedding dress I liked, so looked at patterns and didn't like them either. Ended up designing and making my own. It was an engineering project as that's how my brain works!!
Karen
toxophilite I am in awe of an engineered wedding dress! I sewed my own (43 years ago), but I didn't go down the traditional white meringue style dress! I was taught to sew by my parents - mum was a machinist for a shirt manufacturer and had an industrial machine at home. Dad was a manager in the same shirt firm - he started as a van boy there, went off to the army in WW2 and came back to the same firm. He used to draft the patterns, before finally making it to manager before he retired.
On a side note do you ever suffer from pains in your torso from the cocodamol? I have had painful ribs and back since I took a couple overnight for hip pain.
There is some serious talent amongst us here! Love everyone's work.
I get lower back pain due to the constipation the pills cause. But not upper torso or ribs. If it doesn't go, please get it checked out. It could be you pulled something protecting your hip.
xx
