Well. Welcome to this thread.
You may be surprised why it is here or happy it is here. Then again: ‘You have got to be joking! Do you know what is wrong with me?’ may be your response.
This all began on the Extreme Fatigue thread. On there several people wanted and needed inspiration/incentive to get out and walk. Many people see the benefits of it in their life and to help on this; mad journey, train ride, rollercoaster ride and other positively rude words journey called Breast Cancer.
It is not a thread created to make anyone feel less than they do at present. It is not a thread that will set people against one another. Being competitive with yourself or a simple challenge to yourself is the point, but not a race against others is a key premis.
The idea is that you can do any of these or none:
Well here goes.
Either it will grow and blossom, with lots of lovely people benefiting. Or I will have egg all over my face – not for the first time in my chequered life and career.
Leolady – may be adding in the odd gallop to my walks.
PS if you don't like us don't be cruel.
Yeah!Northerner!!
and I love the glass hanging. What interesting facts and how fab that you can pass this on to your grandchildren!-Ana-I do hope you aren’t too poorly and feel a bit better soon….
I have just been for a lovely trip to a nearby NT HOuse and got some wonderful piccies….
here is a double rainbow (bit hard to see sorry)also a pretty swan by a pretty bridge…took ages to get it right so my sister had to have lots of patience!!
and some deer spotted last night.
believe or not the deer wouldn’t download.
Then my camera went out of battery and my sister said “Let’s just enjoy it now”
but it was so beautiful!double rainbow May or may not appear! It’s a lottery!xxx
Violetsniff lovely photos love the deer . We no longer members of NT & have joined Historic Houses . We had been members since 1978 and our children then grandchildren were all members . After getting Dexter we found there were more restrictions than we liked even to outdoor spaces . Whereas Historic house are a lot more dog friendly so we swapped and now have a lot of new places to visit .
We in Cumbria for a couple of days think we may need a boat tomorrow with rain that is forecast
Where are you? The bridge looks familiar or did they all use the same building firm? Wimpy's perhaps?
Hi,Another attempt at a pretty photo coming up….
Am on a roll now so there are a few….can you see the little frogs??They are being philosophical. Xxx
Lovely photos Violetsniff love the frogs no pics from me today torrential rain in Cumbria for the last 24hrs better tomorrow apparently .
Morning all, sun is out already and am looking forward to walking with a friend soon (if I ever get dressed!). Had a lovely time in Scotland but glad to be back home. Great photos everyone, that glass hanging in the tree is so pretty Northerner. The island in my photo was the Bass Rock, seen from Dunbar. Beautiful beach there and hardly a soul on the day we walked. Violetsniff your deer photo is lovely, I can never seen to get so close!
A couple of photos for you crafty, creative folk, from an exhibition of Japanese printing at the Doocot Gallery in Edinburgh. So interesting. Then a photo from Sunday’s walk near Cambridge. Love to all, HFxx
Oooo! HappyFeet1Bass Rock was on TV last night .. Wonders of Scotland with David Hayman ITV 7.30'pm
really interesting program . If you didn't catch it have a look on catch up .
Yes Northerner I saw some of it, looks like a great series! And there was the Bass Rock and its famous gannets! Daughter was lucky enough to spend several days on it when she was a zoology student, gathering data for her dissertation. I haven’t ever had the chance to go, just gaze from afar!
Walked to next town and back with friend today, brunch at little cafe there. Beautiful day, blue skies mostly so fine for sitting out. Just one photo from start of walk (too busy talking plus took our Nordic walking poles so not easy to stop for pics. The first photo was this morning, when the bank of low cloud looked like a range of mountains in the distance, don’t know if that really shows on the photo. Second is sunset from the garden. Chilly now! Love to all, HFxx
