Well. Welcome to this thread.
You may be surprised why it is here or happy it is here. Then again: ‘You have got to be joking! Do you know what is wrong with me?’ may be your response.
This all began on the Extreme Fatigue thread. On there several people wanted and needed inspiration/incentive to get out and walk. Many people see the benefits of it in their life and to help on this; mad journey, train ride, rollercoaster ride and other positively rude words journey called Breast Cancer.
It is not a thread created to make anyone feel less than they do at present. It is not a thread that will set people against one another. Being competitive with yourself or a simple challenge to yourself is the point, but not a race against others is a key premis.
The idea is that you can do any of these or none:
Well here goes.
Either it will grow and blossom, with lots of lovely people benefiting. Or I will have egg all over my face – not for the first time in my chequered life and career.
Leolady – may be adding in the odd gallop to my walks.
PS if you don't like us don't be cruel.
Hi Northerner,
we are members of the NT anyway and that would be an option if only hubs had his wheels back, look like they will need to be sent off to the Netherlands. where they originate from.
we’ll find somewhere to go when the weather picks up!

Lovely photos Northerner and great news re increase in stamina! Nordic walking this morning, keeping our distance from one another, the walk to next town and back with friend. Grey day but great to be out. Yesterday did solo walk round heath via the ‘egg’ sculpture. Love to all, HFxx
Hi all, as I’m not in a ‘vulnerable’ group I’m lucky to be able to keep on walking for now at least. Even my Nordic walking classes are continuing for the moment as we don’t share any equipment and it’s all outdoors. So have signed up for some extra ones while they’re still going. The sessions have been adapted to ensure no contact and keeping distance.
Lovely walk by the ponies the other day.
moomy I think you’re wise as you can still enjoy the fresh air in your garden, it will never have been so well cared for! And gardening is good exercise. I think you’ve mentioned having a wii as well?
Stay safe everyone and Happy Mothers Day, hope we’re all able to be in touch with loved ones in some way. I’m lucky to have darling daughter home from long travels (16 months away), son in Canada so will FaceTime later. Lovely mother-in-law will be by phone sadly this year.
Love to all, HFxx
Hi everyone. I met up with a friend earlier for a dog walk, at a local woodland where we often go because it’s quiet. Well it was heaving, the car park was full and people everywhere! We went somewhere else instead! There was a lot of families meeting for walks, good to see so many people out and about but not good for social distancing!
I hope you are all coping OK so far and have enough loo roll. My neighbour works in A&E, the other day a lady came in with a fractured ankle. She had been rammed by a trolley in Sainsbury’s whilst trying to get loo roll. Things like this bring out the worst and the best in people.
So glad I have a garden and enjoying the magnolia
Lovely pic, , and oh dear, 6 weeks of relative isolation for the lady with the broken ankle!
how selfish people are!
just read a post on our town fb page saying kids are all out playing together and shouldn’t be, an answer from someone saying well it’s Sunday, but folk are pointing our they will possibly take the virus home to an elderly relative, very true!

Yes I tend to agree, esp as often Grannies are the only port of call for some which is terribly sad...
I have been trying to work out if I am at higher risk, but my GP said, only slightly as my ca was a way ago and I didn’t have treatments as such(I had no chemo, any immuno-suppressing treatments). However a close relative IS in the high risk and I am bit worried for him, also,if I should go again (not planning to)I dont want to be carrying the virus in any way.
!You beat me to the magnolia pictures!!so beautiful...
went for a short amble down the canal path near here.People were taking strict precautions and standing back in the hedges etc and remembering social distancing. It was nice to chat and smile occasionally..(as far apart as poss)Xxx
May stay closer to home soon...ah...here comes the Prime Minister in a minute xx
