Walking back to Happiness

Well. Welcome to this thread.

You may be surprised why it is here or happy it is here. Then again: ‘You have got to be joking! Do you know what is wrong with me?’ may be your response.

This all began on the Extreme Fatigue thread. On there several people wanted and needed inspiration/incentive to get out and walk. Many people see the benefits of it in their life and to help on this; mad journey, train ride, rollercoaster ride and other positively rude words journey called Breast Cancer.

It is not a thread created to make anyone feel less than they do at present. It is not a thread that will set people against one another. Being competitive with yourself or a simple challenge to yourself is the point, but not a race against others is a key premis.

The idea is that you can do any of these or none:

  1. Post when you have walked.
  2. Post how many minutes you walked for.
  3. Post how you felt before, during or after. Or not at all.
  4. Post pictures from your walk, but ones that do not point to where you live.
  5. Post inspirational quotes, thoughts or comments.
  6. A simple like of people’s efforts is fine. No need to write an essay unless you feel the need.
  7. On a safety note. Do tell friends, family or the thread when you leave and return safely. Be aware of your personal safety at all times.

Well here goes.

Either it will grow and blossom, with lots of lovely people benefiting. Or I will have egg all over my face – not for the first time in my chequered life and career.

Leolady – may be adding in the odd gallop to my walks.

PS if you don't like us don't be cruel.

Hi everyone lovely to catch up with your news, pics and celebrations!

First trip of the year in our caravan, we are only 8 miles from home but could be anywhere! The pic is of the view.

    Have a lovely weekend

  • - happy anniversary to you both - what a beautiful place to celebrate it!

I am getting very fed up with having this cold - so decided to drag myself out for a gentle stroll through the park to see if it would help. Lifted my spirits if nothing else! The volunteers have been busy in the walled garden and it has been pruned, tidied and planted up and looks poised to burst into life!!

Hope everyone is having a good weekend!

  • Lovely, Amalie! We loved caravanning too, but it’s too tough for hubs now. We got rid a few years back, but we loved the freedom it gave you.

Enjoy your break! (And being so near home, if anything goes wrong or you’ve forgotten something, you’re near enough to sort it out!)

    hugs xxx

  • Fab photos, and ! My only walk has been into town to meet friends today but will do woods walk with hubby and dog tomorrow. All that blossom and green grass really makes it feel like spring is springing! HFxx

  • Ooo ....how lovely to go camping,as you say,you could be anywhere and you have a lovely view.And ...lovely to see you....

I have had that cold it seems to go on for EVER,but hooefully you will get over it before too long.I LOVE your walled garden piccie.I am not sure if that is a blossom tree?I love walled gardens.

I watched a prog with Monty Don last night about Japanese Gardens. They were so beautiful, and I loved the blossom and velvetty mossy lawns.Apparently the blossom is out in One week a Year!Imagine missing the week!!

So today I decided to stay in and take delivery of my lovely NEW cupboard!!(yes I decided on it in the end,)so will take a while organising it ...the drawers are so beautiful.

preparing some sewing for Monday Knit n Natter...which is important as my 3 friends are coming this week and I need to make them some lovely cushions for their bottom comfort....

Have been doing my cross-stitch and showing the lady who delivered my cupboard as she said she does it too.

Well...not EXACTLY walking back to happiness...or even walking...but....fascillitating easy-to-use storage in a Thing Of Beauty.Sorry...will stop going on about it now.....xxx

    tee hee hee

  • I love the look of Japanese gardens - if I had a garden I think I would try a moss lawn. I have been thinking about some moss art/graffitti on my little balcony but it really is so small I'd have to go down to the street to appreciate it! Joy

cupboard organising is a great mind-clearer I think!
