Well. Welcome to this thread.
You may be surprised why it is here or happy it is here. Then again: ‘You have got to be joking! Do you know what is wrong with me?’ may be your response.
This all began on the Extreme Fatigue thread. On there several people wanted and needed inspiration/incentive to get out and walk. Many people see the benefits of it in their life and to help on this; mad journey, train ride, rollercoaster ride and other positively rude words journey called Breast Cancer.
It is not a thread created to make anyone feel less than they do at present. It is not a thread that will set people against one another. Being competitive with yourself or a simple challenge to yourself is the point, but not a race against others is a key premis.
The idea is that you can do any of these or none:
Well here goes.
Either it will grow and blossom, with lots of lovely people benefiting. Or I will have egg all over my face – not for the first time in my chequered life and career.
Leolady – may be adding in the odd gallop to my walks.
PS if you don't like us don't be cruel.
There's no stopping you now Flossie25, and I agree with moomy and Violetsniff, nothing wrong with slow and sure, you got there! I've had a lazy day so didn't get out till dusk, but the bonus of walking then was that a little muntjac deer crossed my path, we usually only see them first thing in the morning or early evening. No chance to take a photo, and the light was no good anyway. Decent walk round and up country lane then extra for luck just round houses, back via shop. Garden centre date tomorrow morning so will have to do lots of window shopping to clock up some steps, maybe a proper walk in the afternoon....HFxxx
moomy I am ok with volunteering for the self cleaning house trial - I love a trial me, though my paperwork is often late ...
Went to see the deer again at Harewood estate today. They were so close I was a teeny bit scared - but so were they..
Ooh , they are a bit intimidating ! Xxx
Onwards and flatwards (don't do hills) and keep walking if you can!
SunnyOne, lovely pics, but don’t go at rutting time!
Hugs xxx
Moomy
you get amazingly close to these deer! Beautiful photos.
Very pleasant garden centre visit (purpose was to get dog food but of course main highlight was cafe with a friend), not much walking involved so took myself out for a late afternoon walk - it looked from the house like it was still bright blue sky and sunshine but the photos tell a different story...
but was alovely walk, up the 'workout' lane and round by old Norman church, then back through open meadows via shop, so ending with some load bearing on good side! Must make the effort to get out during fully daylight hours tomorrow! HFxx
Went for a huge walk today with a super keen walking friend who is also recovering from an op. This was a lovely moment during it and was a road leaving to a little cafe so I could have a nice poached egg on toast to keep me going. I was most impressed when a nice chap sat down, got out a till and a few boxes and set up a mobile Post Office kiosk! How cool is that!
Pleased with the walk but I do ache a bit. Crochet and watching telly are likely to feature highly tomorrow!
Hope everyone had a good day.
That sounds lovely xx
Onwards and flatwards (don't do hills) and keep walking if you can!
The photographs on here are truly awesome. the photo of the lane is beautiful, this could be on a motivational calendar, so lovely.
Ladies, I am keeping up with the walking, it is a bit hit and miss with weekends etc - I am trying to become dedicated.
Today, my walk had a meaning, I came across a poor lady that had taken a tumble, tripped over a wheel on the wheelie rubbish bins. My goodness she had come a cropper, a massive lump on her forehead, grazed hands and legs - poor soul. Eventually got help from a 'house of multi-occupancy' the residents there all have their own problems and helping this lady I think helped them.
The emergency services said it would take up to 60 minutes for the ambulance!!! What can I say. I could not leave the lady alone, was able to contact husband, husband arrived just as the ambulance crew arrived.
I went on my walk, below is for today, I reckon this is one of my best so far.
Feeling good, if only I could clear my head and get on with my work.
Sending love to all xxxx
