Well. Welcome to this thread.
You may be surprised why it is here or happy it is here. Then again: ‘You have got to be joking! Do you know what is wrong with me?’ may be your response.
This all began on the Extreme Fatigue thread. On there several people wanted and needed inspiration/incentive to get out and walk. Many people see the benefits of it in their life and to help on this; mad journey, train ride, rollercoaster ride and other positively rude words journey called Breast Cancer.
It is not a thread created to make anyone feel less than they do at present. It is not a thread that will set people against one another. Being competitive with yourself or a simple challenge to yourself is the point, but not a race against others is a key premis.
The idea is that you can do any of these or none:
Well here goes.
Either it will grow and blossom, with lots of lovely people benefiting. Or I will have egg all over my face – not for the first time in my chequered life and career.
Leolady – may be adding in the odd gallop to my walks.
PS if you don't like us don't be cruel.
Yes, Violetsniff,
Small world indeed! It was an excellent school and still is, the Head explained his views on education, the Head is indeed a man, and they were broad views including the Arts which I was pleased about. Music, in particular, is proven to help other subjects in so many ways, but seems to be being cut so widely.

These old School buildings will eventually (when the School moves to its new buildings on the Myton/Banbury Road area in the next couple of years) be sold, some buildings like those in my photo, are Listed, and none of the site will be allowed to be an education set up. But they suspect the income from the sales will not be enough to match what is being spent at present on the new school. They have been setting aside all sorts of funds for that! I will be really interested to see the new one!

Hi all
Well I was walking very slowly today for about 2 miles in the procession for 100 years of women getting the vote - if you see any of the footage, I'm in a green sash- lol! Did anyone else join in anywhere?
Hope everyone is having a lovely day - I'm going to try to catch up with all the posts :)

Hi all, had a very hot walk in Etherow Country Park today, earlier than usual, so had lunch afterwards in Morrisons.
Lots of birdlife; swans but no cygnets, ducks and ducklings, several families of coots of different ages, our favourite Egyption goose, Mandarins, pink foot geese and Canadas.
Resting with the fan on now xxxxx
