Well. Welcome to this thread.
You may be surprised why it is here or happy it is here. Then again: ‘You have got to be joking! Do you know what is wrong with me?’ may be your response.
This all began on the Extreme Fatigue thread. On there several people wanted and needed inspiration/incentive to get out and walk. Many people see the benefits of it in their life and to help on this; mad journey, train ride, rollercoaster ride and other positively rude words journey called Breast Cancer.
It is not a thread created to make anyone feel less than they do at present. It is not a thread that will set people against one another. Being competitive with yourself or a simple challenge to yourself is the point, but not a race against others is a key premis.
The idea is that you can do any of these or none:
Well here goes.
Either it will grow and blossom, with lots of lovely people benefiting. Or I will have egg all over my face – not for the first time in my chequered life and career.
Leolady – may be adding in the odd gallop to my walks.
PS if you don't like us don't be cruel.
Sabrina22 ......La Rochelle.....and yes it is a beautiful place. It has everything....historic buildings and fascinating history....a marina and a working port.....a sandy beach and beautiful wild parks and parks with gardens. It also has an amazing shopping centre built into the stone arcades of the walled old town. Once the roads have all been levelled ( on going development at moment) with only bikes and electric buses in most of the streets....it will be a holiday destination to suit all tastes.
Lacomtekp , just near La Rochelle, at St Juan Les Pins( think I got it right?), my Dad was evacuated in June 1940, after Dunkirk. It was on the Highlander. The other boat was blown up, 4000 dead. I owe my existence to that quirk of fate! I’m glad you were finally able to get a long walk, and hope your mum’s back is improving. Xx
Onwards and flatwards (don't do hills) and keep walking if you can!
Lovely photos Lacomtekp and Sabrina22 . Haven’t been to La Rochelle but love Brighton. And glad you got your walks at last Lacomtekp . I imagine you’re back home by now. I’ve just had a few nights in Dunbar, staying with a friend, will post a couple of photos. Have a further week in Scotland, visiting family. Being by the sea has definitely blown the cobwebs away! Xx
We love Scotland as well. Once went to a clan gathering in Inverness.
Currently in Sorrento, just been to Pompeii, definitely got the steps in today. Feet are aching.
Loving all the fab pics on here .. I now feel like booking a trip to somewhere sunny, or just anywhere.
Still doing exercises for hip. Back to physio in a couple of weeks. Going to add more stretching/yoga. Dull, damp morning but have done a walk and will do another one in a local park. Pic is from an early evening walk a couple of days ago.
