Walking back to Happiness

Well. Welcome to this thread.

You may be surprised why it is here or happy it is here. Then again: ‘You have got to be joking! Do you know what is wrong with me?’ may be your response.

This all began on the Extreme Fatigue thread. On there several people wanted and needed inspiration/incentive to get out and walk. Many people see the benefits of it in their life and to help on this; mad journey, train ride, rollercoaster ride and other positively rude words journey called Breast Cancer.

It is not a thread created to make anyone feel less than they do at present. It is not a thread that will set people against one another. Being competitive with yourself or a simple challenge to yourself is the point, but not a race against others is a key premis.

The idea is that you can do any of these or none:

  1. Post when you have walked.
  2. Post how many minutes you walked for.
  3. Post how you felt before, during or after. Or not at all.
  4. Post pictures from your walk, but ones that do not point to where you live.
  5. Post inspirational quotes, thoughts or comments.
  6. A simple like of people’s efforts is fine. No need to write an essay unless you feel the need.
  7. On a safety note. Do tell friends, family or the thread when you leave and return safely. Be aware of your personal safety at all times.

Well here goes.

Either it will grow and blossom, with lots of lovely people benefiting. Or I will have egg all over my face – not for the first time in my chequered life and career.

Leolady – may be adding in the odd gallop to my walks.

PS if you don't like us don't be cruel.

I've had a quiet day today, exercise wise. I feel really tired and fed up, so I only managed 25 minutes of stepping today and had to give up.  Had my magseed fitted today so maybe I shouldn't have been jigging around anyway!

  • Thankyou for all kind comments..I flunked my “O”level I am afraid in NW but have used it most ever since!Am a bit too impulsive to read the instructions properly!(artistic temperament or just laziness)

you will do a high mileage marshalling the Car Parks dor the COVID immunisation Centre!!Keep Warm!(and dry)xxIt is so heartening to hearx

those celandine being a message of hope...how very lovely, and so pretty.

Be careful of the rain it looks like there is going to be a lot!Feel sorry for those in the path of floods.Oh Goodness xx

PS I am sorry I keep talking about my day rather than walking...but I don’t have anyone to chat to here xxxxHeart️Thankyou for being there x

  • Hi , sorry you’re feeling out of sorts, 25 minutes is still so much better than no stepping and will still increase your fitness. I didn’t have a magseed so don’t know whether jigging around matters or not! Hope it wasn’t an unpleasant procedure, at least it’s something to tick off the list. HFxx

  • Yes  I think there’s lots of rain on its way.... and everywhere is pretty waterlogged already! Mud, mud and more mud tomorrow I fear. Not glorious when you want to walk! Never apologise for chatting here, it’s good to chat! HFxx

  • Missed keeping up with everyone today so need to catch up on all the posts.
I hope everyone has had a good day and been motivated a little or a lot.

I worried I wouldn’t do much today as I’ve been helping at a vaccination clinic but I’ve managed to reach my 10,000 steps guiding people back to the car park and luckily the torrential rain forecast did not materialise just some showers.
Hoping to sleep well tonight and get out on a long walk tomorrow xxxx
