Well. Welcome to this thread.
You may be surprised why it is here or happy it is here. Then again: ‘You have got to be joking! Do you know what is wrong with me?’ may be your response.
This all began on the Extreme Fatigue thread. On there several people wanted and needed inspiration/incentive to get out and walk. Many people see the benefits of it in their life and to help on this; mad journey, train ride, rollercoaster ride and other positively rude words journey called Breast Cancer.
It is not a thread created to make anyone feel less than they do at present. It is not a thread that will set people against one another. Being competitive with yourself or a simple challenge to yourself is the point, but not a race against others is a key premis.
The idea is that you can do any of these or none:
Well here goes.
Either it will grow and blossom, with lots of lovely people benefiting. Or I will have egg all over my face – not for the first time in my chequered life and career.
Leolady – may be adding in the odd gallop to my walks.
PS if you don't like us don't be cruel.
I walked into town and back today, I’d signed up to take samples for the ‘WaterBlitz’ which is a couple of times a year, assessing and taking and testing samples, preferably of the same stretch of water each time. They send the test gear and it’s easy to do. (Our river comes through farmland and is high in nitrates but not too bad in phosphates, tends to suggest field run-off of too much fertiliser.)
There’s no evidence of life in the water which was free flowing today. Chatting to a chap who had come to ensure his youngster was safe, he used to catch quite a variety of fish when he was young. Sad.
So I walked 3.5 miles in total.

That’s great work on the river water, moomy . Sad about the decline in river life, but so important to gather these samples for research.
Lovely dog walk with daughter today, such a beautiful day! Walked in a local country park, by a lake and through fields. Did you get out for your walk Flossie25 ? Sounds like you’d already done a good distance! Love to all, HFxx
Good morning....
I took an early walk today as I still need to do a lot of gardening later.
It was glorious. The sun burst over the hill.
I enjoy going early . It seems to set me up for a better day. We are back to being just ourselves after two sons and d-in- law for last ten days. One back in London ran the marathon and was pleased to still finish well despite being 46 now. It was his 18th London marathon.
The others will be back before they start travelling for work. My oldest son is working on the music scene in Europe this summer for a company based in Holland. My d-in-law is returning to UK to teach swimming somewhere in Milton Keynes area. ( not separating....just earning maximum money for house deposit means working apart for three to four months.)
So we are making the most of this gorgeous weather.....especially mornings as afternoons are forecast to be very warm.....to get some outdoor jobs done while we don't need to entertain.
Take care all. Don't walk in the heat without hats, suncream and water!
I did get out for another walk HappyFeet1

Lovely walk this morning, frequent flyer one to next town and back with friend. Mainly by the river, saw so many bird babies! Ducklings, goslings and cootlings (older batch plus 2 very little ones), plus a lone heron. Cafe stop too of course. Nature is so beautiful! Xx
My walk today was mostly around the hospital! (After quite a busy morning gardening)
