So in  5 days time I have the operation to remove the tumour - randomly known as Ian.
So glad I’m not the only one that’s not getting notifications Jackie!  I was beginning to think I had somehow changed the notification setting! Â
Braved the shave yesterday as my hair is coming out by the handful now! Â Going to check out wigs on Friday.Â
Bigguy, thinking of you today for your appoint with onc, I'm off there too soon. Hope you slept better than I did last night, think it's those pre appointment nerves kicking in which by now you'd think we'd all be used to appoint after appoint, and I'm not expecting any surprises, still it's the unknown.
Leo, hope you got some sleep in the end, seems we all have busy week or two with appoints, wigs choosing/fitting and general roundabout that never stops type stuff, or is that just the mushroom coffee that makes the world spin?
have a good day all, look forward to reading your shenanigans later on
must engage brain on normal stuff, went to clean teeth, put toothpaste on brush, inserted into mouth, applied toothpaste to front teeth to realise I had DH's toothbrush and not my own!
and on that note.......
Leolady I think I'm with you on the hot flush thing, I've had a couple during the night in the last few days but thought it was because the hubby had left the heating on haha! I've got to have a blood test tomorrow to find out if I'm pre menopausal or post as I'd no idea so to determine what medication to give me I think they are doing this test so maybe I can answer their question as I actually didnt' think too much about it before you mentioned the flushes!
Big hugs to everyone! Deb xx
Thanks for the welcome Jacks77
I have now seen the oncologist and chemo is planned to start in a few weeks
I am 8 weeks post op and feeling great can't believe I'm going to go backwards. The oncologist said the mastectomy was the easy part!!
Going to try the cold cap but won't hold out too much hope. Xx
Washed my hair in the conditioner the other day!! Stood wondering why no lather but kept going. Hair looked like an oil slick all day.
LL - phew not just me x
Life is like a boxing match, defeat is declared not when you fall ..... But when you refuse to stand up again ....... So, I get knocked down but I get up again. x
Like the look it really suits you go rock it lovely lady.
Debs. To be honest I think I knew something was up with the boob several months ago. I am way past menopause and I started to get hot flushes again. But I put in a false hope claim!
They will need to know if you are pre, in it or post as further meds plan will depend on it. As I am post; the plan is RadioT and Herceptin. But of course onco's voice will be the deciding factor. Our central heating has developed a life of its own. Twice I've woken at 3-4 am to find it one. Told hubby who did the sceptical look. So have now woken him twice to say see told you so. So it would seem a valve has gone! Need a man to fix it. Bet he'll want to com on Friday and I am going to be busy of course. Grrrrrrr
Bigguy and JollyG with you both today. My sister always sends to say 'I.m walking with you.' When I have appointments. So ladies walking with you, holding hands and supplying any hugs.
Today's dilemma: Do I attempt some ironing or claim still stressed?????? Yeah I know what all you loverlies would say. Tee hee
Take care
Leolady - slept in until 9.45 woo hoo

Oh wow thought I had just caught up on all that was going on, wrote a big thing as not been on for a while and yes lost the lot.
So to all who have had bad results, big hugs go out to you, to all who have to come to terms with a new treatment plan, I hope it will not be as bad as you think.
For those starting down the chemo route, it's not as bad as you think it's going to be.
More surgery sucks I know but sometimes it has to be done. Â
My 2nd cycle of FEC is not as easy as the first, bone pain is hard to handle.Â
Stay strong
Good afternoon ladies.Â
Pleased to see that you are feeling more like Lindsay after yesterday’s shocking appointment LL.Â
My OH is taking me out Sunday with my shopping list and I’ve added a flask to the list, great idea. Oh and the answer re the the ironing is a resounding NO!!
BG I will take a look online re the thermometer from Tesco. I drink decaf coffee at home, hope I can continue to do so, otherwise I would be cleaning etc in the early hours, add that to sleep problems I’ve now got anyway and I would be a walking zombie. Hope all goes well with your appointment today.Â
Sparkles, the notifications are coming through again for me now. I’m dreading the shave but am having my hair cut short first on Wednesday, the day before my chemo starts. Then I’ve asked my OH if he will do the shave for me once the rest starts to come out. My wig appointment is tomorrow, I’m going with a good honest friend and my daughter in law.Â
JG I’m not sure what time your appointment is today, I think it was this morning. I hope all went well and you got the answers you needed.Â
Jbee crikey strange thing for an oncologist to say when you’re about to face chemo, talk about adding to the worry. I’m going to discuss the cold cap at my pre chemo appointment on Monday. To be honest I’ve seen mixed reviews and may just give it a miss, it also adds to the time you are there and I want to get out of there as soon as I can.Â
Ali I’m always typing a post and then lose it, LL has done it too. It’s the iPad/phone it just wipes it if you move it from vertical to horizontal or vice versa. If I have to get up whilst typing I walk around like I e got a precious cargo in my hand. :-D Sorry to hear you’re having some difficulty with bone pain, is it a more common side effect and can they five you something to help?
Jammy I hope all is good with you today and little Libby went off to school with a smile.Â
Back later to see what all of you beautiful froggies have been up to xxxxxx
Hi Boudicca, I had left mastectomy and full node clearance on 11th December, I'm 4 weeks on and pretty much back to normal with full range of movement and strength in my arm! At first it was very uncomfortable rather than painful and when the drain is removed a few days later I found it was a lot easier and I was able to start the exercises they give you, each day managing a bit more! I do still have a pocket of fluid which is annoying but I'm told it will absorb eventually into my body which is taking longer than expected to be honest but other than that it isn' as bad as I thought it would be! I begin chemo on 16th Jan and I'm more scared of that and everything that goes with it! It's a tough journey but with each others' Â help we will get through it im sure, all the best for your operation, regards Deb xx
