So in   5 days time I have the operation to remove the tumour - randomly known as Ian.

Why in the last few days have I become incredibly tired and emotional ??
Did anyone else feel the same?

Mirabo, Thanks very much for your tip. I feel ok when I get up but by about 2pm feel drunk - how rude when I’ve not had even a sip!! I’ll ask when I go to hospital xx

    JammyR,

How are you today?? Just thinking about you xx

  •   it's good to hear the exercises worked for you for the BPV!! You may find you'll need to do them again every now and again - it's about 2 years between bouts for me now.

    xx

Thanks Karen!  I'm glad you're down to about once every 2 years!  I've had both types of BPV.  First one was the kind that put you over the top upon rising and lying down.  2nd type didn't happen then, but just when walking.  That one was the worst actually, but both were treatable by head positioning.  Honestly it was amazing!  Now I can do my own reposition and not bother the Dr.s!  Hugs, Mira

  • Hi Bigguy

Thanks for asking feel much brighter in myself today. Shoulder still stiff as to be expected but exercises seem a touch easier this afternoon and the pain isn't constant, fine when sitting/lying still (which is handy cos I'm very good at being lazy) so just taking it easy then pottering on and off to stop it seizing up too much. Was able to play with Libby this morning and she's been out since 11 just had text to say she's being taken to Mac D's for tea so won't be back till 7 so hubby just ordered cheeky takeaway for us.

Hope the dizziness stops set speak to hospital or ring chemo line, my aunt had dizziness with chemo (for different cancer) and seem to recall they prescribed something to lessen it)

Hi to everyone else. Will pop back on later xxxx

I'm finally back home for a few days. Have had a good time in general at in laws, 13 of us does get a bit mad though. Looking forward to my own bed again, the one at inlaws was so uncomfortable, springs everywhere, which isnt conducive to sleep with delicate areas to consider.

Despite not getting on with my mother particularly, lunch with her was actually ok, and i was actually quite shocked she asked about my op etc, trust me, her expressing any level of concern is a miracle and a half. Oh and despite me knowing that her own mother died when my mother was just a teen, i never knew the reason why, (my mother is infamous for never giving a direct answer,  even when been asked in the past, it was always a non commital answer she gave) however it seems it takes going through this for my mother to divulge info, that could be crucial. It transpires that my own grandmother died due to breast cancer!

No i couldn't have contacted her when 1st got dx, to double check family medical history, as she makes herself uncontactable the other 11.5m of the yr........don't ask!

So after a few days off having to think about the crap we all think of on a daily basis, my mind is now back in over drive thanks to that little nugget, would have been nice to have known that by the time i was a grown up, just in case it was ever relevant. Guess better late than never.

Lots of post to work through from being awol a few days, so will not post specfic replies to those, but will start a fresh with the new

  • Mira, the worst for me is when tilting my head back and to the left, whether I'm vertical or horizontal. Which is a bit scary when I'm up a ladder fitting an alarm bell!! I will never forget the onset - I woke up at about 3am with room spins and barely made it to the big white telephone in time!!

    xx

Hey Karen:  I sent you a friend request.  BPV is actually pretty harmless, but very strange and we need to be careful in dangerous situations.  Like your alarm bells!  Mine is sometimes activated with just exactly the same movement as yours.  Very short lived thank goodness.  The first bout of it was almost ludicrous.  I was bouncing off the walls literally trying to let the dogs out.  Fortunately I've never gotten nauseous from mine and they usually only last 30 seconds.  My half brother has Meniere's disease which produces much longer, but similar symptoms.  Mira

  • Yeah, they tested me for Menieres when it first cropped up. I've learned to avoid that head position as much as possible!! I never had the sickness again after the onset though.

Off to accept the friend request now

    xx

Hi everyone, thank you for your comments. I'm okay.  Just been really tired and I haven't started the treatment yet! Getting more and more nervous about the mastectomy! I just want to run away!

Lopsided Princess - that is brilliant! That'll be me next Wednesday!
