So in  5 days time I have the operation to remove the tumour - randomly known as Ian.
Hi Deb, I’ve just discovered Microblading so searched the forum and your comment came up. I hope you don’t mind me asking but did you have yours done before?
I’m having the op first, next week, so won’t start chemo for another 8 weeks or so. I’m thinking I might have Microblading before so am hoping to get other’s experiences to help with the decision.
Needaname - I would definately get them done it' one less thing to worry about along the chemo route and there's no need for eyebrow pencil application every day etc! I had mine done before the operation and chemo purely because as with any procedure there's a slight risk of infection so if you're thinking of getting them done id say either before your operation or before chemo as your immune system will be at its lowest when your treatment starts! The microblading itself isn't painful and after you will notice that they will go a little shabby and then this will fall off and you are left with perfect eyebrows! I'm now on my 4th cycle of chemo and my eyebrows although haven't disappeared completely are very sparse but with the microblading you can't tell! Good luck with your treatment and keep in touch, big hugs Deb xx
Hi regarding Microblading I think Leolady56 Lindsay has had this done. But apologies if Chemo brain has fogged my recall :-)
Judith xx
Thank you Deb, I am going to get them done. I was telling my mum and sister about them and they want to pay for me to have them done which is so kind and also means there’s nothing stopping me!
How do they do them if you already have eyebrows though, do you shave them off?
Xx
How has everyone been today? Hope the SE are starting to pass for you CT ladies.
Wouldn't say I have felt cracking today... still bit nauseous and struggling to do v much other than sit around. Did manage school run this morning and tummy felt better walking (shame my legs didnt lol!) so will try and get out again tomorrow.
Hubby gave Libby £80 cash this evening (we owed her following a refund from Amazon for something she had bought and given us cash for). She disappeared into dining room for ages and eventually came out with an envelope for me. In it was a sweet get well card she had made with a lovely message and she had put a £20 note in so I can treat myself. Won't take her money of course but melted my heart especially as she'd a bit upset earlier about our cancelled holiday.
Hey ho another day done, so ready for bed. Libby is going on her first ever sleepover at a friends tomorrow night..... she is adamant she will last the night and really hope she does but told DH to keep off the wine in case he needs to do a rescue run!
Take care ladies... nearly a new month and a step nearer... xxx
Needaname - Hi they will measure them to make sure they are the right shape and symmetrical to your face and they will pick a shade that is close to your hair and complexion! They don't shave your own brows, they use brushstrokes to mimic your own eyebrow hair and fill in gaps etc they do the brushstrokes all over so when you lose the eyebrow hair the natural brushstrokes will still be there in a perfect eyebrow shape, they may ask if you want a combination of brushstrokes and shading or one or the other but they should show you the differences between them! This photo was in the salon after they were done so they are a lot darker than they actually turn out to be and a little red but after a couple of days they fade and are very natural as then you are able to see the fine brushstrokes whereas you can' in this photo but just to give you an idea! Deb xx
JammyR - How lovely and thoughtful of your gorgeous Libby, they do sense when we aren't ourselves, I'm sure that did cheer you up a bit! Not good that you are still feeling nauseous, it's totally pants! Well I've been practically bed ridden for the past 7 days, I've had to stop taking the codeine every 4 hours as I began being physically sick and dizzy and passed out so the chemo suite said not to continue with them! I was advised to contact gp in the morning for something more suitable! Both me and Harry have been sick for a few days now and told that its a viral sickness bug so we've not been able to keep food down yet! Our temperatures are ok which is one bonus! I'm meeting with the oncologist before the next T chemo so the pain meds are in place so I needn't go through the same awful time again hopefully! Fingers crossed our se will pack their bags soon and we can all enjoy Easter! Big hugs to you lovely xxDeb xx
Oh you poor thing sounds like you have had a terrible week and with Harry poorly too you must be at your wits end. Hope today you can get something from GP and the bug starts to clear too. Keeps us posted. Yet another time where it would be great if we all lived closer so could pop round and help you. How is your DH coping? Bet he is exhausted too and must be worried about you. I kinda of keep forgetting to think of things from husbands perspective. Must be hard for them working, worrying about us and doing extra house and childcare. We have managed to work things that Matt only working 3 out of 17 days Libby will be off school and he is planning to take the opportunity to take her out for lunch and things he rarely gets to do on his own with her.
Really hoping things pick up for you and you can relax over Easter.
Sending love... you will get through this awful cycle and sure oncos will be able to try and help prevent/manage the SE going forward.
