So in  5 days time I have the operation to remove the tumour - randomly known as Ian.
Hello All
I'm new to this thread but I hope you don't mind me weighing in as the Bingo is making me laugh and I'm ready to tick off some boxes!
Last Friday I had 3 appointments in one day. One was sort of on time, one right on time and one 2 hours late!
I now have 2 appointment free weeks engineered that way as we are on hols
When we get back I have 3 appointments in one week. Two scans and a herceptin appointmentÂ
At last weeks PET scan the pregnancy enquiries went to a new level. I denied being pregnant and signed the form. The lady came back after a while with another very detailed form. It didn't seem enough to say I'm not pregnant and sign. The questions threw me a bit and she was enquiring how I could be sure I wasn't!  It was quite intrusive which says a lot after some of the indignities we've had to suffer. I got flustered and gave the wrong answer and caused crossings out and all sorts.
Part of me wanted to say 'I'm 53 and I've just had 7 lots of chemo. Do you honestly think I could be pregnant? ' but there didn't seem to be a box for that !!
Anyway all is forgiven because on Friday last week, the results of said PET scan caused big celebrations. I am officially free of active disease.
I'll continue to lurk on this wonderful forum in case I can be helpful though
Love Maz x
OMG really pregnant. Sorry I would have been forced to write it somewhere. But boy did you just make me giggle. I was upset that I had never been asked at 61yrs youog. Then next op got asked. She should have gone to Specsavers!
Have a jolly hols
Please post about Herceptin as I would be interested to hear as one of my next delights is that. Plus CT &/ or RT.
Leolady still tittering

Life is like a boxing match, defeat is declared not when you fall ..... But when you refuse to stand up again ....... So, I get knocked down but I get up again. x
Hi
Wayhay for your PET scan results! Long may you be free of active disease! Hope you celebrated!!!
The pregnancy enquiry thing is always a joy, isn't it?
I had to do a pregnancy test before RT a couple of weeks ago - I'm 54, have had no periods since during chemo in Feb 2014 and my OH had a vasectomy 20+ years ago. But they still have to test people under 55....
Just a simple enquiry should be enough but hey ho I'll just be better prepared next time I'm asked.
I'm having 18 heceptin injections . They are into my thigh and three weeks apart. I don't know what I can tell you really Leo lady as I've had two so far and have had no effects whatsoever. A slight bruise last time and the nurse tried to put an unnecessary plaster on but it got stuck to her rubber gloves so we gave up!
I'm also having zoledronic acid infusions every 6 months. I've had one so far, again with no effects at all. Hopefully it will be the same for you.
I'll promise to do more than lurk then Karen!Â
Hi Maz
Thanks for the giggle, just what i needed this evening.
Nurses at my RT planning scan did mention I'd probably get asked each time i went for RT if i was pregnant or not, so will find out later this week.
Been an ok day BC wise, teenage sons however are an evil breed, and have sent me into the pit of despair, so,i may as well have had a full on BC horror day, probably would be easier to deal with.
Off back to crawl into my pit, will emerge again soon
Hi lovelies
Just catching up..apols if miss anyone!
Jackie - sounds like did your GD world if good spending time with you. Must be hard for her as she is old enough to understand a lot but not an adult. As the weeks go by she will see that you are still the same lovely grandma/nana and however rubbish the chemo is it will be a short period and you and her can soon be back to doing fun stuff together. Maybe you could plan a special treat day out for the 2 of you to look forward to together. On separate note if I were to place a bet on this weeks bingo letter I would bet on you with all those appts! How are you feeling side effect-wise?
Leolady - sounds like you are pretty similar stage to me although I reckon you will swerve CT. When you set off on your Zippy trip? Dont forget we are coming with you.
Aliblue - thats encouraging that bone pain not troubling you this cycle. Everything crossed it's a better few weeks for you and the side effects give you a nice break.
Jolly - sorry to hear teenager being a pain...guess it comes with teenager territory. Lib is going through a being delightful phase right now but she has had a lot of attention which is all b
need at her age. I suspect she will head to playing up phase if the chemo means less attention!
Stripeymaz - hi and glad you like the bingo....unfortunately no real prizes!
Jac - hope the seroma got the message and is feeling suitably deflated! Good that yoj have couple of weeks before RT.
Bigguy - hope you are still feeling better. Bit of luck you will follow Ali's path and find that next cycle less problematic.
Jbee - how are you feeling.
No news from Jammy land. Busy day, feel reasonably ok about everything although I always do this time of day....3 am is another matter!
Sleep well everyone xx
Thanks ill prob fget how to do it.
