Hi Everyone, Well been in hospital since Mon morning, just come out this afternoon. The pain got worse and both my ears started bleeding so went along to A+E, never for a minute thinking they'd keep me in. Both ears infected, left one perforated eardrum and the right one eardrum had actually burst. They were worried about the amount of bleeding said it was too much so kept me in and straight on iv antibiotics and painkillers. Yesterday went to ent clinic to see consultant who cleaned both ears (sounded like a dentists drill )in right ear found a polyp that had burst hence all the blood! So she cut it out, cauterized it and packed ear with swabs..back to clinic next weds.

Still on antibiots/pkillers can't hear a thing on right side and left just muffled. She said it should just heal itself when infection and swelling gone.Sending the polyp as usual for tests but didn.t seem concerned. It brought home about being alone as had no-one to bring any stuff in for me but I thought what the hell it's only a couple of days so just used nhs gowns etc, My lovely neighbour came in to visit me on Tues afternoon and hospital is miles away from my usual one,so if it had been longer would just have given her my keys and she could have got stuff for me. In fact as soon as I got home she came round with bread and milk and said I should give her a set of keys for future.. so I did. Isn't that nice of her? and I def trust her.

So going to catch up on posts now, then bed. Hope all has been well with everyone.

    xx

  • Sorry to hear that , but glad you are home now. Definitely a good idea for your neighbour to have a key.

Now it's time to put your feet up and relax. Sending you a MASSIVE.....

    HUG. Take care Hun xxx

  • Oh Mazza,

What an experience! Poor you! I know how devastating son found one ear, had to have the drum incised and drained, both must feel really dreadful!

But I’m so glad you are home and with a caring neighbour, how lovely they got bread and milk in for you.

    Take care, lovey

  • I think most of us can relate to this one...........

LOGIC and CANCER just don't go together :-( xxxx

  • Oh  you're not alone you have us, and now the neighbour is a friend because she wouldn't have come to see you and offer to have the key if she didn't care.

  • You seem to have a fantastic neighbor  and so sorry to hear of both your ears being bad. You learn something everyday i didn’t know you could get poylps there, but saying that i suppose they could form anywhere. One of my Dive buddies has a perforated ear from an infection, I wonder if she had a similar experience, she’s not said.

Sending you lots of hugs and hope your ears get better very soon.

And sending a group hug for good measure
