  • Oh and  , love the museum tales as ever and hope your daughter is feeling a bit better, loss of relationships is such a painful thing Heart️x

  • What a dramatic morning! We had such a thunderstorm here. I had left Henry-dog and gone off to my friend hairdresser for my 6 weekly trim. We were a bit concerned that it seemed to get very close, and I literally ran home through the wet to find (when I’d stripped off and wanted to dry my hair again) that the power was off at home, and Henry a little unsettled. The alarm on the stair lift was beeping (it does if there’s a power cut). I had only recently had a new fuse box fitted so phoned the electrician to ask what switch I needed to push to get power back on, bless him he FaceTimed and talked me through it, said that there must have been an ‘earth leak’. He’s going to investigate a surge protector for me.

later on I twigged that my WiFi router wasn’t working, yes I suspect it had been blown in a very nearby lightning strike and fortuitously I’d kept my old one together with its power lead (that was blown) which I’ve now successfully plumbed back in, just finished sorting out the Ring cameras!

Another neighbour also said it blew their router too, someone had fire engines out, too. And a fairly new neighbour had managed to damage a vans rear light and came to me while I was dealing with my doorbell in an emotional state about it as he parks in front of my Goldie-van. Fortunately she loves dogs, and Henry helped cheer her up as I insisted she came in as she looked so nervy.

And it’s time for a cuppa! Henry, of course, is alternating sunbathing and coming back in panting now that the weather is fine!

  • Surge protector is all done, didn’t take electrician long.

Henry barked like mad but after a couple of minutes, totally accepted him!

  • Most of my WiFi stuff is all plumbed in to the new router, but Alexa has decided not to play ball, the plug for the light which she controls is therefore not working. Just hope daughter can sort it (and returns tomorrow morning)

  • Hi  sounds like that was a bad storm, we must have missed that here although we did have a lot of rain but no thunder or powercuts. Glad you’re all back up and running.

I’m sorry to hear about your mum darling we can all see on here how much she means to you and the lovely times you’ve had over the last year. Thinking of you all and sending you love. X

how’s it going? Hope you are coping with the new plan, what’s the next step for you now?

thanks everyone for the kind words of encouragement. I know I do too much but I guess as long as I’m doing mostly stuff I love then I do find it hard to slow down. Tomorrow is my final day of radiotherapy and I’ve managed ok, lots of tiredness which comes in waves. But 19 sessions down and 1 to go. Thanks to all who recommended the Aveeno cream I’ve been using that every day. Weirdly yesterday is the first day I’ve had real soreness on my skin, it’s quite red and yes itchy. I’ve put lots of cream on but I think that the extra boost they are giving me in this final week has probably pushed my skin to its limit. But final one today and then I can start the healing process.

Yesterday I met with the lovely pink ladies group for coffee I’m so glad I went along that first time, even though I was wondering if it would be for me, they are so funny and really make me laugh and yet so easy to talk to. Definitely feel I have some friends for life in that group. And I can really understand the importance of speaking with others who’ve had the same experience, you’ve all supported me and each other on here and that has been such an amazing source of inspiration and strength for me. Thank you all.

feeling happy it’s Fridays but flipping freezing here in the uk. Wrap up warm ladies and enjoy your weekend.

  • Don’t forget that those rads effects will still grow a little after you’ve finished, dear  , including that tiredness!

And yes, it was indeed some storm! Lots of electrical problems locally here just north of Milton Keynes! But probably to those houses without surge protection? Who knows?

Anyway, getting myself geared up for 5 nights away in Goldie-van! Starting with final packing and of course, since daughter isn’t an early riser, walking Henry-dog for the last time as she’s taking him with her to house-sit a friend. Then I will have just a few days back here without them when I come home again….
