Oh Hun, I feel for you. I get awful reflux just can't quite work out why on some nights and not others!!! (((((((BIG HUG))))))) xxx
Morning people, back on for a few minutes just to say............
Couldn't resist, the photo made smile! Now hopefully can drift off back to sleep! Xxxxxxxxxxxx.
Hi LondonLass Haven't seen so much of you in the last week. I hope that means you're getting more sleep.
Lots of love
Hi Lynn, well last week was just an awful week, with the hot weather and night/day constant sweating. I managed to get myself into a bit of state. But after a lovely couple of days away I am feeling much better!
Since startling Zomorph I have had, limited flushes, and the pain is almost sorted. So that's gfogreat! Still get drowsiness which i hope will ease In time. But compared to where I was while on oxycodone, it's a milliom times better. Just think it's sad that I had to suffer for over 6 weeks! Before someone believed me.
But its hopefully sorted now and I can consentrate on getting through each day with a genuine smile on my face! Plus a bit more sleep at vp
i've even decided to let my guard down a bit. I'm going to invite my mum along to my palliative nurse appointment on Friday. That way she can ask anything that's worrying her too. As I think she's struggling a bit with the not knowing what she can do to help.
Anyway I think that covers my AWOL. How you doing? Hope, you are well xxxxxxx
Nice to hear from you @londonlass. So glad you had a great weekend - it makes such a difference to your spirit, doesn't it? Good idea to take your mum along to the palliative nurse appointment. Best to engage her in your treatment then she can act as a bridge to the rest of the family.
As for me, I'm fine. 3 of the 4 people I see regularly during the day are overseas at the moment so my social life is a bit thin. The up side of that though is that it's made me get off my backside as far as re-starting some volunteer work. I used to run craft and cooking groups in a high care old folks home but had to stop that when I had chemo cos of the infection risk. I don't want to go back there so I'm going to start helping out at a day care centre for oldies one day a week. It sounds like fun - they are more mobile than the previous lot and also still have their brains, so activities are much broader. I'm quite looking forward to it.
I also want to volunteer in the ICU at my local public hospital. I got great care there during my period of great unwellness and I think I have something to offer - after all I'm an ICU success story. And the strange thing (perhaps) is that I have a very positive view of my time in ICU. You might think it was depressing and dreary but not at all - above everything it was a place of hope. They had one person die while I was there and the staff were all cut up about it (not that I think he had any chance) as they "don't let people die" as one nurse told me. Trouble with that one is being government run, I have to have a police check and then go through endless bureaucracy so it'll take a bit of time.
So there we go - I'm taking steps to broaden my life, which has got to be a good thing.
Have a lovely week and no sweating!
Well, here's hoping for a better night. Was awake from 2am last night.
Sweet dreams everyone
Xx

NIGHT NIGHT ALL, hope everyone gets a better nights sleep!
