.
I know this is breast care board but my nephew's wife about to start chemo for stage 4 bowel cancer ( spread to liver & lungs). Want to send her a care package. Not sure what to include as I never had chemo. She had two young children but I know their grandparents will be helping out so it's just things for her.
Thanks.
Oh seaspirit44 , so sorry, I think ‘that’ cough gets called the ‘3 month’ cough or possibly the 100-day cough’ depending on who you talk to…..I really hope you both recover MUCH faster than that, though.
A morning doing ‘bits and pieces’ to and around the Bombe, later this afternoon will be the OU Choirs first longer rehearsal for Jenkins’ ‘Requiem’. Listened to bits of it with son last evening, also the scarily high cello solo from ‘The Armed Man’ which he played at the weekend for another choir.
Then tomorrow morning I’m at the Bombe again.

Hi Grogg
A care package what a lovely idea Carol . My suggestions would be
hand cream
Moisturiser
lip balm.
shower /bath crème 0%parabens
magazines or quick read books & sweets for chemo days
Added things I found useful when side effects kicked in were mouthwash ,bonjela recommended by dentist were soft junior toothbrush and gentle toothpaste I deliberately got a Disney princess one lol
I also bought bulbs and seeds that I could watch grow as I went thru the 5/6 months of chemo
I felt cold a lot of the time so bed/ slipper socks and a throw for resting
gift voucher for coffee and cake for good days
I’m sure you’ll get a lot more ideas
but to be honest whatever you choose will I’m sure be gratefully received x

Grogg , that’s so tough but I’m sure you’ll do all you can. Home cooked easy-to-heat small meals too can help. Daughter had so much chemo and the worst was the stem cell transplants when her mouth and throat got sore. So soft foods were useful. She really fancied chilli but her throat wouldn’t let her eat it!
As Northerner suggests, good creams for hands and face too.
little treats, really.

Agree with the great list from Northerner Grogg - I appreciated lip balm, moisturiser, I loved one friend who bought a mix box of clipper herbal tea (i like the sleep one) and a pair of socks with a positive message went down well with me e.g: https://www.etsy.com/uk/listing/1500146283/motivational-socks-kind-strong-smart?gpla=1&gao=1&utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=shopping_uk_en_gb_e-clothing-other&utm_custom1=_k_CjwKCAjw17qvBhBrEiwA1rU9w2UQwAxZkEl07qR7ObY-EmgBPWvJKiqpyC00wavL73LR2xiHgHO5IRoCMxoQAvD_BwE_k_&utm_content=go_6479444529_80543709111_380917142126_pla-297616371983_m__1500146283engb_595606488&utm_custom2=6479444529&gad_source=1&gbraid=0AAAAADutTMcx4ZMSfIhIeRiWpP50qS1ze&gclid=CjwKCAjw17qvBhBrEiwA1rU9w2UQwAxZkEl07qR7ObY-EmgBPWvJKiqpyC00wavL73LR2xiHgHO5IRoCMxoQAvD_BwE&variation0=3564840678
