Grogg sad to hear about this horrible situation of the dementia patient being abused. That carer should never be allowed near old people. Many people working in care are doing so because they earn minimum wage but can do 12 hour shifts often 5 or 6 a week. I have actually known agency staff working days in one place and nights somewhere else (often immigrants) They are exhausted, bad tempered and in no fit state to care for anyone. Good carers to be honest get out of the industry ASAP. I absolutely treasure the good carers who stay.
Also they don't even get minimum wage as their breaks are knocked off their working day and they are charged for food and even a cup of tea, mobile carers often don't get petrol money. Its all disgusting.
Your friend need to advertise for private carers. And put cameras in. I'm sorry
Some great responses from, Northerner, moomy and Snowys Mum
