Good morning....
Loving the sewing Grogg....I couldn't have produced that in a week let alone an afternoon!
Shoulder improving thankfully as no lifting yesterday. Meal went well. I cooked far too much so no cooking today but all plates were clean and empty and they liked the British elements. I had to be careful how I referred to recipes as I had a Welshman at the table too!
I hope Mag123 and Santababy you are feeling better this morning. Continuous pain is so debilitating...........
In France they take BC awareness month seriously ( I expect UK is the same but I haven't been there in October) and everywhere there is pink. Pink umbrellas decorate every town. The most poignant reminder was the village cementary we passed decked out in pink with banners saying in effect ' don't let this be you. Get checked.' It does seem to have a result. I rang to make my annual check to be told I was 19th in the phone queue with a 25 minute wait. I must confess I didn't have 25 minutes to wait. It must be my first job this morning....
So on Monday I have my first hospital review with cardiology and oncology. Both within an hour of 1 one another, so I hope there are no hold ups!
I'll mention the hot flushes to oncologist, thanks to good old Letrozole, but not holding my breath as to anything they can realistically do about them. I just hope there's no nasty surprises awaiting me..
As for cardiology, I really want them to change some of my medication. When they discovered I have arrythmia during my pre op assessment, the cardiologist prescribed Bisoprolol for the arrythmia, and also an anticoagulant called Sintrom. I agreed to everything, as my priority at the time was to get the surgery for the tumour done.
What I didn't realise is this particular anticoagulant requires regular monitoring of my blood to check the medication is working. It's not a great hassle, just a visit up to the health centre, a pin prick and a monitor reads my blood, which is then sent to the hospital. I get an email, usually before I get back home, giving me the medication instructions for the next couple of weeks before I go to have the same thing done again.
My grouse is that I have all sorts of no no's as far as what I can eat are concerned, because it affects the effectiveness of the medication. Also I feel restricted as far as planning any trips away are concerned. For example, if I'd come back to blighty to visit my son, and the blood monitoring happened to fall into that date, how on earth would/could I get it sorted? There are loads of anticoagulants, none of them require blood monitoring, from what I can gather, it's just my luck he's chosen this one to put me on! I've got fingers crossed that I can persuade him to change mine!
It will feel strange walking back in the hospital again. I haven't been there since my radiotherapy finished at the end of August.
So yesterday I made choc orange brownies. I'm rationing myself to one a day. Its OH birthday tomorrow so plan to stick a candle in one. We've not eaten them all, we had workmen in so they ate some! Managed a good 6 hrs sleep last night after my home alone in new house where I got about 3 hours! And we've had boiler fixed as it wasn't coming on properly so wait and see what happens next.
Oops forgot the pic .....
Mmmmm, chocolate brownies…..you’re talking my language!
Night night Fruit Loops, sleep well and stay safe

Tired Minion oh dear Lord those brownies look lush. I can't sleep because I'm hungry and then I see that tin of loveliness xx
The brownies look delicious TiredMinion. I could just eat one now. Unfortunately my bloods came back and weren't satisfactory so am having tovrepeat them in a few weeks. They won't tell me at the surgery what is causing concern.
I saw The Lost King at the cinema tonight. It is a wonderful film and the actor who plays King Richard 111 is rather lovely.
I am wide awake again having nodded for the past hour. I just can't get into a comfortable enough position to sleep and OH's snoring is annoying me.
