We had a couple of downpours today, so I didn’t have to water the plants. Luckily I’d picked a big bowl of gooseberrries beforehand, and had filled up the bird feeders. Well done Anna12345, that’s a great achievement. I’ve decided to not go back to work full time, so am going to ask to reduce my hours to 2 days. Will let you know what they say!!
Night night everyone, it’s an early one for me … and a fresh new week for us all tomorrow. Xx
So true, Northerner!

4am. Been awake since just before 3. Cannot sleep. I am so tired but sleep evades me totally.
I haven't been on here for nearly a week. I am not sure if anyone saw my last post but as noone responded, which is so not like you all, I feel sure the post can't have loaded for you.
Anyway all OK with my cat now. Also my headache finally stopped.
But I am back to the insomnia.
I am really suffering with the side effects of Letrozole. The arthritic pain is so bad in my shoulders I can't lift my arms and lying down hurts. Also the brain fog is so frustrating. The loss of strength in my hands means I can't even open a bottle of water myself and I drop so many things when the strength to hold things just goes. I had a nasty fall this week too. Just overbalanced and fell on my bottom which is so painful. The pharmacist has advised I go back to the oncologist about the tablets. Has anyone else stopped taking them because of the side effects?
I did get to the cinema the other night to see the new Railway Children film, which was brilliant.
We also went to Hampton Court Castle to meet up with my sister and brother in law, whom we haven't seen for a year. It is half way between us and such a lovely place to meet up.
I hope everyone else is managing to sleep.
Welcome to the newbies. Sorry for the moaning self pity. It is the middle of the night so perhaps I shall be forgiven.
I was approached by an agent about a new job this week. Having sent my cv, the company is interested but wants me to take an exam! It is years since I sat any exams and I am seriously worried about the brain fog affecting me! I mean I can't remember where I have put the car keys half the time. So how will I fair answering technical legal questions? I have always hated exams anyway. I was quite insulted really as I am an experienced conveyancer aged 57. Could they not just interview me rather than make me sit a 60 minute exam? Apparently you can't go back to any of the questions either! Anyway, as I shall be taking the exam in the morning after little to no sleep, I don't rate my prospects!!
I have a date for my first annual scan 2nd August.
Good luck to all having tests or appointments this week xx
Nothing to forgive @Mag123! You are just telling us how it is for you at the moment. I do get side affects from Anastrazole. Mine is in my ankles, and can be very, very painful. Like you, I had a fall. I lost my footing and twisted my ankle. Was thankfully able to use a parked car to hold onto to stop me falling completely. I have since bought a pair of walking boots which support the ankles and have arches and they have helped a lot. I wake up hobbling still, but they have definitely been a game changer in respect of helping severe pain. I have also had problems with my shoulders - maybe ask for a CT scan? It turned out that I have fibrosis across the chest wall and it can ache quite a bit. It’s due to radiotherapy.
live thought about seeing that film, so thank you for the recommendation! And good luck with your exam this morning - well done for a company being interested in employing you!!
Carole xx
Many thanks for the suggestions Cloudier. I shall certainly ask about the fibrosis when I get to see the oncologist.
I really enjoyed the film. Very much still in the style of the first one but a delightful new young cast (an older Jenny Agguter) and an easy to follow storyline set in the second World War.
Cloudier good luck with the plan to work less hours. I also cut down to very part-time after BC. It makes you reevaluate how you spend your time. I have opted for less money and more time sniffing the flowers.
Mag123 I took Letrozole for 6 years. I also have degenerative disc disease in my spine. I got through by taking CBD oil and still take it now. I sympathise regarding the brain fog, I used to look at written care plans I had done prior to BC with wonderment. I must have been ever so sharp and on the ball. I feel better for not taking it but glad I took if for 6 years, so I did all I could to stop it coming back. Maybe you did better on the exam than you thought. Glad the cat is better and your day out sounds gorgeous. Xxx
