.
I think I only took paracetamol at that time but like you I had complications later with my back and an op so I can't quite remember which pain killers went with which. I expect you're sick of hearing how everyone is different but it is an important factor with cancer treatment. I had to have chemo and it was the chemo that caused me permanent complications with nerves. Today, oncologists are more aware of these side effects and often reduce doses or give them weekly but I had a severe reaction.
As I said earlier, get your current pain checked because there can be problems but if all is clear, don't worry too much as although it's unpleasant and disruptive, healing can take a while.
Now go back to sleep!
Yep Try gongs . Why not ? I’m keeping a journal as well . It’s so hard to keep track otherwise .
Well I have eaten 2 crumpets with marmite with another cup of tea so , and indeed am planning to settle back down now .
Dry toast is a good idea or maybe a dry cream cracker ? Just remembering my pregnancy days .
Lots of love and kind thoughts to you all and both night owls
x
Oh it’s very similar to pregnancy days! I managed to get back to sleep just after 6 and up again at 8. I did experience the sweats, is that normal? I love marmite, might put that on a cracker and spoil myself with some flavour. Thanks again for the tips - going to have a shower and see how many hours I can work….
Sorry everyone has had such a disturbed night, big hugs to you all. Bringmesunshine21, I had this with my first cycle of EC, taking omeprazole really helped control the nausea and also did they give you metaclopromide? If they did take it now too. I took one omeprazole in the morning and one either at lunch or dinner, initially at dinner but now I’ve switched to lunch. Also don’t allow yourself to get hungry, have a biscuit every couple of hours or ritz crackers helped me xx
Hi all my story on profile if you want to read feel free .
I had MX first then EC x6 I was lucky anti nausea drugs worked reasonably well but they can change them til you have one that suits . I also lost sleep pattern which meant you wake up can't sleep tn feel nauseous ...oh the joys of remembering those nights ......I found A good book , Drink flask ( non alcoholic please
) and some digestive biscuits good for slow release sugar on bedside table helped me to get some rest . I tended to use hot water bottle for relief and used V pillow for comfort
It's 2 year last July since MX with sentinel node op and pain does slowly go having said that I still get days with shooting pains in scar area . Oncologist not in the least concerned . Described as nerve pain ..whatever they hurt !!
The good news is it not all the time and I no longer take pain relief .. I tend to massage the area and keep skin moisturised at same time .
Hopefully you will soon feel on the mend and be the ones reassuring others that how they feel now will improve with time .
Also it's so worth it to kick cancer in the A***
Thanks Margaret! I figured the first cycle would be a voyage of discovery, will prepare bedtimes as suggested. I wish I had my ear pods as could have listened to some music, I‘ve found them now
Well well well ! Got back to sleep at 6am and woke up at 11am . That’s co drymadol for you . Anyway have spoken to my BCN and have an additional appointment on Tuesday to see my surgeon consultant as well as my RT lady.Silvia , my BCN , was lovely about all this pain and suggested I may need another drain . Also not to put pressure on myself to start tRT on 8th November , can be delayed by up to 12 weeks after surgery apparently . Another thing I have found out . Although we all know what’s looming ahead it’s
CHRISTMAS ! Unless some of you have forgotten lol .
Ho hum not sure I’m in the spirit of things at the moment ? Who am I kidding I couldn’t give 2 ….. about it . Honestly one thing that puts everything in life into perspective is having BC right? Seriously are there really people out there getting stressed about pigs in blankets or is that just a feeding frenzy from the media ?
Love and hugs from me to you all .
