How do you do the friends bit? This is an odd site to use.
Bit longwinded but hope this helps
If you would like to add a member as a friend, you can do so by visiting their Community profile. To view a member’s profile, simply click on their username, or profile image, and you will be taken to their profile page.
Once you are on their profile page, click the +Connect button if using a laptop or tablet, or the +button if using a mobile. You will need to then select the ‘Request friendship’ button from the menu that appears.
If you are using a laptop or tablet, the +Connectbutton looks as below:
If you are using a mobile, the + button looks slightly different, as shown below. Once you have pressed the + button, you will see the option to ‘Request friendship’ appear from the menu at the bottom of the screen as below:
Once you have sent your friend request, you will receive a notification if the other member accepts the request. Once they have accepted your request, you will be able to send them private messages.
Thanks for writing out the instructions and with pics too (I struggle with those!) x
I agree with most things you said Karen, but I'm in an unlucky group of 10,000's who have had covid, long covid and very bad reaction to first vaccine. I have a good level if natural immunity (covid 12/20, antibodies 8/21) and equivalent to '1-2 vaccines response to spike protien'. I'm more protected than 90%+ of people with two vaccines, but it doesn't count. If I have the second vaccine my long covid could become even worse, and my tinnitus is so loud I struggle to sleep. It had nearly gone before the first dose, and is a known side effect. If I want to travel I need extra tests and to quarantine. There is no logic to this.
Yes there should be a mechanism for people in your situation where your immunity is high. My nextdoor neighbour has a similar situation in that he was one of the original people that brought covid back from Italy in the beginning, he is now part of a study looking at natural immunity and has still got off the scale antibodies and T cell scores. If he is vaccinated he destroys the data they collect monthly from him so they’ve asked him not to. He is free to do so of course but wants to hold off for as long as possible to help the science. The net result is he couldn’t go on the family holiday as he can’t quarantine afterwards. If you’ve proven immune response see that should be recognised x
I guess your difficulty is the return to UK. For France( and therefore I suspect EU) you are eligible for a Pass Sanitaire if you have confirmation you have had covid from your doctor. You could also have a temporary Pass if you were going to an event with a test but these were free so they stopped them on Oct 1st and they now cost 25€. Naturally you would have to wear a mask in many places but that's good for you too. Today before the hospital we went to a shopping centre and were checked for masks and passes at the entrance. Same at hospital. It's just become the norm here.
Londonmumof2 I am sorry you have been so unlucky with the long Covid. I know we have been so lucky here. Practically no cases in the department and I haven't heard of anyone in the town.
Good evening lovely people,
PenelopeJ57 regarding the journey to your radiotherapy venue. Is there no patient transport scheme available? I must have been very lucky in that my hospital had a volunteer driver scheme. They had actually got the contract for patient transfer and were paid insurance road tax and mileage. They were mainly retired gents with nice cars, it was all very civilised with quite a bit of gentle flirtation. Some even got me sweets for the journey.
Could I just suggest you Google patient transport for your area and ring the number and explain your situation and ask, because this morning I got a patient at work ( he is actually perfectly capable of getting the bus) a lift to an outpatient appointment. You may have to tell a bit of a fib like you have intense anxiety and pain at operation site etc. Sorry to be bossy but its not fair you going around with a placard on you xxx
Well my news is that I went in work 1st thing for a few hours while Dep manager attended dentist. The relief when she got back and I could run away to lunch with Boyfriend ( the one who won't book holidays)
I'm back in tomorrow for the full day, so will say nite nite early. Wishing each and every one of you a peaceful, pain free night, with no anxiety. Xxx
I am currently looking at schemes but I’m not sure I’m eligible as it might be means tested and my partner works full time . Currently I have no income.
I am under Greenwich and Lewisham council . I have phoned the Lewisham office and left a message , in fairness they said on the answer machine that it took up to 3 days to respond .
Sick to death of the news . London news is full of doom and gloom regarding infection rates . I dare not look anymore .
Lots of love to you all .
Helen your not bossy just kind !!!!!

Helen/Snowys Mum, you’re anything but bossy and I hope you get the time with your man you deserve and need.

plenty of sleepy fairy dust available for those who wish
