Hi Angua1 . Read your profile and saw you have only recently been diagnosed . Well I’m hardly a veteran but was diagnosed in August with cancer tumours in both breasts. I’m new to forums as well but what I would say that the strength I have got from fruitloops and generally from the site has been heartlifting and really helped me through some tough times and undoubtably what will be tough times ahead .
Welcome anyway . I don’t know how you do that clever thing with the green letters on peoples names ?

Good morning.....
Appointment today as OH visits diabetic consultant. The discussion will be whether to continue the new patch pump. There were so many good things for OH but it hasn't controlled his sugar level so well so....it will be an interesting discussion. We have an hours journey so will leave soon.
I have just watched the news on UK tv. I am astounded at the emphasis......' save Christmas' by introducing restrictions like masks and passes. What happened to prioritising ' save lives?'
I am sure you are still very careful inside your houses but please do take care outside. It isn't sounding great......slow boosters, new variants, huge case increases and more dying again. There is a big difference at the moment between UK and France but I don't know if that is because the variant isn't here yet or because we never stopped wearing masks and certainly in our towns the Pass is checked and if you haven't got one ( we do) you are asked to leave. On market day, masks are compulsory and gendarmes check both in the street and in cafés. I have to say I haven't felt any restriction of liberty. The Pass is on my phone and I have had the vaccinations. Why should it bother me to show what I know I have? I don't understand the against arguments. The result maybe in the figures.
I hope the chemo and radiotherapy side effects are reducing. I am sorry some of you are having such a rough time but it will ease.......Hopefully the quiet night online indicates better sleep.
Take care. Love Karen
I agree out “ personal choice “ allows all the wrong type of characters to inflict their choice on others. Personally I have never had a problem wearing a mask in public places or transport . What’s the big deal ?
As someone who will have to take the train. Into central London ( Guys hospital ) for 3 weeks daily to get my RT treatment I can say I am terrified . Is that fair that I have to feel this on top of everything ? Is that not an infringement of my civil liberties ?
Its such a shame here in the UK . Love this country but sometimes words fail me xx.
Agree with all you say. I went into London for my birthday treat, live in Bucks and paid more than the treat for my private car there and back. I’ve had to pull my daughter from school because it was rife and threatens my treatment and we feel we can’t really go anywhere because there are no masks or distancing although obviously we do where we can pick carefully and I’d say about 25% still are locally in supermarkets particularly. I don’t know why we had to throw out all precautions. I was also challenged while with my daughter by anti mask wearers which was a horrible experience, certainly not respecting my choices, have a better day everyone! ️

I too travel by train through London to appointments, and have found people are good at wearing masks and sitting apart from each other. The tube is ok as well though platforms can get full, but ventilation is generally good. Buses are less good, as not everyone wears masks and people seem to close the windows. I make a point of opening any window I can on the bus. No one has complained yet, though plenty of looks!
Angua1 welcome to this site which none of us would have chosen. Hope you have a better day.
Lacomtekp hope diabetic appointment goes well today.
Very heavy rain here today. Glad I worked in the garden yesterday . The bulbs will be getting a good watering.
Judith
But you can see the above doesn’t always work. I followed my own instructions and Angua1 still appeared black!! This site has a mind of its own.
People need to understand that we had no bloody choice in getting cancer . None . We have to wear masks and socially distance . I find the ignorance of these anti mask wearers astounding and offensive .
Oh well .Ho hum I suppose .
We will get through
