Very funny northerner.....I wish it was that simple ! Stood on my friends doorstep today

    ( 6 feet apart ) and had a chat .

I have friends who are teachers and also have children and elderly parents , and chicken pox is rife here ,to help things along ....life has got very complicated....

sal, you are right , we must help each other  get through this , I think it came so suddenly just when I had worked out a coping strategy, I am sort of grieving for the life I had ( only 2 weeks  ago ) .....

best wishes all round , we may be in the gutter , but we can lookup at the stars  x

  • Too right! We must look to our inner optimist and get our acts together......

I plan on getting a daily fix of yoga, courtesy of t’internet, then adding in some books I have that I’ve not yet read but want to! Then perhaps piano practise which I vow to do but never seem to have the time. I want to brush up my French and learn a bit of German too. So, lots to do.....

in the meantime, night night fruit loops, sleep well....

sleepy fairy dust is topped up for any and all who wish it.....

I know in the general scheme of things this very trivial but I'm not happy.  Almost a  year ago, I bought 3 lots of theatre tickets.  As of this morning 2 have been cancelled. I know I'll get a refund, but I was SOOO looking forward to our theatre trips, one of which included shopping in Birmingham.

  • Update from my family today Son self employed from home so no financial support yet . Struggling to get an income .

Daughter working at school for key / vulnerable  children

Eldest granddaughter thankfully can work from home so can stop travelling to London each day

grandson no 1 and fiancé both send home today zero contracts so no pay

grandson n2 uni closed (final year ) worried about p/t job to keep flat after finals for earning money on year out before masters was the plan !

youngest granddaughter uni in Nottingham shut ,not sure if she will be able to take up American uni offer for third year .

Me  bloody angry that just when I saw daylight there was a landslide at end of tunnel

Sorry about all of above I'll feel better in morning

  • That’s sad, and I really hope the shows will be rescheduled but I guess there no telling when or even if you’d get tickets next time round. So I’m very sorry for events like that which get cancelled.

  • So sorry, , really feel for folk stuck out on a limb and really hope there’s a way forward.

for my lot, son and his hubs are still working but both are now part time, however fortunately their ‘second’ jobs at present will be needed. (Son in funeral service, son in law in banking) Daughter is being paid to teach via internet for her conservatoire students, her playing work has mostly ceased unless some comes in for RealBrass which is home recorded (so she has to be in practise) but she does have some voice over work she can do from home, (she has a home studio with all the gear) and her partner is working from home too. But it’s a real worry for so many.

  • Had my surgical follow up today. All well. The colonoscopy is postponed. Glad about that. I’m more at risk from this virus than the cancers st the mo. CT in April, but may also postponed. Don’t know about the mammo yet.

My daughter is at risk (asthma) granddaughter also, with a oast history of life threatening illness when younger. Son pn immunosuppressants for psoriatic arthritis, now stopped, but hope he does not have a flare up. Daughter in law history of sepsis twice.
