  • Morning, fruit loops,

I hope you all have a lovely restful Sunday in spite of the wild weather, and stay safe!

me? Off to the NEC for the caravan, camping and motorhome show! We will probably be shattered as yesterday we were out demonstrating the Bombe and will be there again tomorrow assisting the engineers!

  • Thankyou,...you are very kind....

yes am fine thanks...havent been around much as have been away for short break...and my sleep was fab as I was in Eastbourne/Brighton staying near the sea...(sea air always helps me)and we got so much packed into a day that we were exhausted!!(Coach trip).

,I am sorry I havent time to read back over all the posts...as have to get ready to brave the elements to walk to Church,...but I loved your post...my Dad used to love “bully beef”as he called it and my Mum used to make mashed potato and bully beef and fry ...give it a go...add a little seasoning to taste. How lovely that you still have your Mum’s tin...xxx

  •  your break sounds wonderful... love being by the sea... or on the sea... just love the sea! I play white noise waves at night to mask other sounds & it helps me sleep so much better... I have a Lumie clock that I play them on & it also has the facility to do a sunset & sunrise with the light which also helps me enormously with regulating my sleeping pattern. The sunset really helps me to wind down & the sunrise helps so much especially in the dark winter months as I’ve definitely suffered with SAD over the course of time but have found these functions a real help... I’d definitely recommend it to anybody who has difficulty with any of the aforementioned issues... & just for the record that’s just a genuine heartfelt review lol - I’m not on commission! Rofl Ps it is pretty expensive but worth every penny in my opinion... if mine ever fails I will definitely replace it!

Haha I understand not having time to read back! I really struggle to keep up at times! I’m not in walking distance of the church I go to so my sister kindly picked me up because I haven’t braved driving again yet,  but I did manage to be ready on time lol... I’m not very good at timing! I usually get to places by the skin of my teeth! Ah talking about that is making my tummy grumble! I might give it a go when I’m feeling brave... my son asked if we could have nanny’s pie plate so it was brought home & put in a cupboard but my daughter would never allow it to be used for any other purpose because it was nanny’s pie plate! Two hearts

Is that a cross stitch from a photograph you are doing? Looks lovely x

  • 03.35 & I’m totally wide awake not having yet been asleep! I’ve tried but not succeeded! So frustrating! Waves & sunset aren't working tonight lol despite my rave review! Joy Tum te tum...

  • Hi

hope you got back to sleep and feel a bit more rested .

Sorry for late reply ,escaped from engagement party quite early really and got home about 11pm . Lovely time had by all . I found it very tiring being in a room with 100+ and accompanying music etc .

We went to Cumbria on Sunday taking some things to our caravan before snow arrived . When we got back I couldn't sign in to forum . Don't know what was wrong but couldn't get in til thus morning . Just got a message saying problem ... thought I was on naughty chair !

Coincidentally my Dad was a geordie ( North Shields ) mam was from Govan so I was bilingual as a child lol

My mam was a pastry cook so I have always baked pies . Both savoury and sweet ,always with my own short crust pastry . Granddaughter once made one for a party when she was an intern at a designers iRoflLondon .( Using shop bought pastry ) Most of the arty southerners loved it but were fascinated at Quiche with lid on RoflJoyJoyRoflJoyJoy

I use good old fashioned enamel tins ,All shape and sizes Usually buy them at local store but Lakeland sell them .

When the grandchildren are home they come to raid freezer in garage that I keep any home baking in lol RoflJoy

Dad also liked to be in kitchen he would make cornbeef ,onion and mashed potato patties and fry so blackened on top and bottom . I know one grandson does a pizza size one when at uni !.

Get your pinny on Lidl sell packs of bacon offcuts ...make it your craft project lol

  • Anyone crochet?  I haven’t done it since a young child .  What do I need to buy to start ? I’ll watch a YouTube video to learn how to actually do it!!!
