  • Hi Londonlass, just catching up on posts before I get ready for my night shift and felt I had to add by pennies worth .

You can only do what you do . We all push ourselves to do more but if it causes distress then it’s just not worth it . Try the job share , it’s an excellent way of covering a role and don’t forget to remind your employers that it’s a fantastic way of covering holidays etc.

It’s so hard saying no and like Snowys Mum , I’m always staying late , covering shifts and give myself the worst off duty. I made a decision a few months ago to change my job for shorter hours over more days . I’m starting in January as a Palliative Care CNS within a Hospital in London. Doing what I love but not killing my self with exhaustion.

Im so sure it will work out but remember to put yourself first lovely. Xx Twinkle51 xx

The best advice given to me was “ take it one step at a time” . Twinkle51 xx

  • Hi,!!nice to see you again.I totally agree ,and It is something I have found since my operation and subsequent difficulties...it is much better to commit yourself to less, then you can have the option of adding more on,than to over commit and over-strech and get yourself over exhausted and unable to cope.Nobody wants that. And sometimes saying “No”in a kind but firm way leads people to find somebody else and actually respect you more.Xx

  • PS ..I am sure it is snowing somewhere,my nose is telling me so.It is so cold and has always been my weather vain.xit always knows

Hope you all get some sleep, good luck to anyone who has treatment or appointments tomorrow xx

  • congratulations on your new job, I am very jealous of you working in a London Hospital. I would love to have trained at a big London teaching Hospital, it is one of my biggest regrets, I just didn't think at the time. So I am super interested, and wish you all the best.

Have a quiet ,uneventful night xxx

  • Much colder tonight . Nasty little wind. The church was over heated, but better than being cold! Xxx

Onwards and flatwards (don't do hills) and keep walking if you can!

  • Evening all. Although I suppose I should say Morning all!!

Yesterday was not a great day. The one nice thing I had planned for this week had to be cancelled due to sickness. So I am now left with yet another week that's just  appointments, appointments and more appointments! BORING!!

I know it was just one of those things and couldn't be helped but I feel really sad and fed up! On a plus it'll give me time to relax......BUT.......i'f rather be meeting with my friend and enjoying a good laugh. But hey ho, it wasn't meant to be!

So after yet another frustrating week I thought I would write my Christmas List to Santa! Now I know that he's mainly there for the children and of course I wouldn't want to impose! So I just asked for a couple of things! But his reaction was completely over the top....IMO!

    Seriously.........

    I only asked for.......

    1) A New Body

    2) A Cure for Cancer

Thats all. Okay it might not be the simplest things for him to find, but I thought he might enjoy a Challenge! CLEARLY NOT!!

So I suppose I shall have to keep plodding along! Maybe just maybe the New Year will bring a better sleeping pattern and more supple joints! Stuck out tongue winking eye I can dream Can't I?

    So Goodnight My Friends!

Hope you are all doing as well as can be expected. how did you get on today? Hope all went well and LP behaved! Love to you all. Xxxxxxxxx

  • , Its great to hear that things are going along so well for you! Good on you my friend! It's always great to see the stories of those who have moved on. You have had such a tough time and yet you have pushed through it and found your way out the other side!

You should be VERY proud of yourself! Xxxxxx
