.
Morning everyone, good luck to anyone having treatment or appointments. Hope you all have the best day you can.
toxophilite - wayhay, well done Karen! National records must be yours soon!
I'll put my pompoms away for now, but they're ready for when you need them next...
Happy Monday loops!
Hope everyone has as good a day as possible. My highlights for today:
1) knitting leg warmers for dancers. After doing several million pairs, my enthusiasm is waning. Good thing we've nearly done the whole company now!
2) putting the dishwasher and washing machine on - it's amazing how much energy that seems to take these days...
3) trying to find some off the shelf glasses that I can actually see through - I made the mistake of buying new (very expensive!) glasses just before chemo and my eyes have changed quite markedly since. Now I'm walking around in a blur most of the time - can't see a bloody thing!
4) buying some salami.
5) hoovering the lounge. That might have to wait though as 2, 3 and 4 might have taken all the available energy for today!
6) There must be a nap in the day sometime...
After going commando for the past almost four months, it has finally become the time to find a hat as despite the fact that my hair is beginning to grow again now we've reduced the chemo dose, it's a bit chilly on the old bonce now! Autumn has finally descended in the Weeblemum household!
Right, off to the shops to buy glasses and salami
Hi Weeblemum
The best ready specs I've had were from a small optician on the high street. They were about £10.00 but I've had them years, they're much the worse for wear but I must have bought a doz pairs since but I still go back to these. I found the ones in Boots too expensive and not a lot of good, and the ones from the pound shops ok but not much use either. Ive picked up a couple of pairs in T Maxx which have been ok but the ones from that little opticians were the best overall. Unfortunately haven't been to that town since. Good hunting and enjoy the salami
Hi
Thanks for that! I tried quite a lot in various places, but none were good for me - I have a complex prescription and am VERY short sighted, so I'm not sure they cater for that type of thing!
I eventually made an appointment to have my eyes tested again to get a cheap pair of distance (for TV watching as that is the bit that is bugging me most) glasses - should be about £25, but at least that's not too bad compared with the several hundred my present ones cost!
I have just enjoyed the salami...

Having a very bad day, floods of tears since morning, ca't get myself together at all.
Had abdo pain in the night, kept me awake, often have it, but now am scared it is the obstruction again, Had to make several phone calls to hospital last/insurance company they am. Always find it difficult, ended up making an official complaint to the ins co. Then DH has his big railway exhibition at the weekend and is very stressed and busy. The atmosphere of stress chaos and mess is really getting to me, and of course he is snappy as well. And I pretend I'm doing so well after my recent Hosp admission, but I often feel bloody awful and fed up with putting a brave face on. We are supposed to be going on a lovely 3 day break to London on Tues and I just don't know how I am going to cope. I'm still on pureed food, how am I going to manage eating out? Just don't seem to be coping at all, help!!!!!!'n
Onwards and flatwards (don't do hills) and keep walking if you can!
Oh seaspirit44 I'm on my phone as I am at work so I can't offer you a detailed response. But I just wanted to send you the ((((((((((((((BIGGEST HUG)))))))))))))))))) and remind you that we are all here for you.
Sometimes we need a good cry. Although it feels horrible at the time it can sometimes relieve some of the stress. Sounds like there's a LOT going on in your house at the moment. Maybe you need to take a deep breath and take things one hour at a time! Don't think too far ahead! Just look after yourself! Xxxxxxx
Oh!@Seaspirit!!!!....such Great Big Hugs for you!!!!
so sorry for you.Can you take something in a flask, warm and pureed, and save the meal out for when you get a bit better?
and maybe go for a day or two until you feel you have to come home and just see the best bits??dont put yourself under any more pressure!!xxx
Oh so sorry you’re still feeling pants!
Life really can be a b****r at times! Can you and OH postpone the trip to another time?
Sending you great big mahoosive hugs xxx

Thank you so much for being there, LondonLass. Ironic, I had such a lovely day yesterday. That happens quite often, doesn't it, a good day followed by a crash. Hope you are OK. Xxxxx
