  • Good morning....yes, I know it's early even for me. It's black outside so no sunrise photo today. Mum and I are off to MU Christmas buffet. It's a pretty drive nearly to the coast so I hope sun comes out.

Hope you all have a good day. I'll chat later but   welcome. The waiting days are certainly the worst. Thinking of you.

  • Thanks Sal. My brain is so full of worry. Its all consuming. I slept for 5 hours with one zopiclone so that helped last night x

  • Thanks hope the buffet and drive make your day a good one x

  • Hi all. Had a bit of a drama, can’t even remember last time I posted. Started feeling awful last week and as it was my first cycle I really didn’t know how bad I was expected to feel. Then on Wednesday I fainted in the shower luckily I could feel myself going and I laid down on the floor and didn’t fall. Thought it was because I wasn’t eating etc so when I came round a bit I managed to get myself downstairs but continually felt faint. Rang hospital who told me to go in, which was easier said than done.  My blood pressure was very very low. They think I picked up an infection and so was admitted until the blood pressure and infection were under control, got out last Friday.

i am struggling to eat as the nausea is awful even with the anti-sickness tablets. Could the penicillin be making it worse? Last full day of antibiotics today so hopefully things ease a bit. I’m nervous as I start my second cycle next week and still feel so crap from the first. Feeling pretty down honestly as now 5 more cycles feels like a huge undertaking if I’m going to feel like this through it. Sorry for big pity post

  • Not at all, I would be the same. Good that you managed to help yourself even as you were fainting. Got to keep going, keep telling them. Ask them to find a different anti sickness medication if possible. They have a few they can choose from in sure. Xxx It might not feel like it, but on that day maybe something higher than you was helping.

  • Sending a massive hug from a newbie member that hasnt even half started the hell ahead. Try possibly to look at it as there will be 2 done after the next, you'll be one third through the cycles after this next one. Learning how your body reacts following the first cycle is im sure so hard. Thinking of you x

  • Hi Mumofthree

Sorry to hear that your not feeling well after your first dose of chemo.  No need to apologise for feeling sorry for yourself, we've all been there now and again, I know I certainly felt sorry for myself when I had my infection back in September.  As Sabrina said let your team know that the anti-sickness meds aren't working for you and they should be able to prescribe an alternative for you.  Because of the infection they may reduce your next dose of chemo.

Wishing you the best of luck with your next cycle.

    Best wishes
