  • @daisy53. Good luck with the op and no stressing on what knickers to wear Rofl

  • Good luck Daisy I will be thinking of you Purple heart

  • Dear  What a shame you and your Mum had those awful dreams.Something might be worrying you both which you need to talk out.

and a shame she called you in the night but I am sure you were a support.

I woke up thinking about the blue moon suffusing the garden in blue, and what a fairy tale it had seemed.

yesterday I went out for coffee with my friend Penny,a School Teacher who is on holiday.

you won’t believe this, but I had taken some origami to ask her to help me with (she is a Maths teacher and sometimes an artist)and we both felt exhausted after one!

said afterwards it was like doing 5rounds with Mike Tyson!

so I watched “First Dates the night before and a couple met and both were separately Intested in origami .You know how they manage to find the most incredible matches?…He said he had Asperger’s,and he sat and made her a dragon and as they were leaving said he would kiss her if she liked but he had never kissed anyone before. For her part she was overjoyed with him.It made for such a LOVELY programme after so much nastiness on the news and some programmes.Beautiful.

went up to see my older brother, with my sister.

Even though we have had history,I am all over him now that he is dying of wide spread cancer. It is heartbreaking.

we should be so grateful for all the advances in cancer treatment, which unfortunately he is too vulnerable to have.
    Lots love,Violetsniff xxxx

  • Good evening everyone.

While I know this is not important compared to people's brother's being very ill and our own Daisy53 having her op. However can I just cast this situation before you and hear your views.

My boyfriend/friend of 14 years has recently had an operation, he was in hospital for 3 weeks and was very ill. He is home now (we don't live together) and I'm doing the dressing. He now has a stoma bag.

Now he's home suddenly he is buying a new car and giving his own car to his daughter (the daughter already has a car but has been driving his while he was in hospital) I went on 2 buses. The daughter works 16 hours a week and her partner has never worked they have 3 kids and live on benefits.

So then they will have 2 cars. So as our holiday brochure is now out I was all excited thinking about planning what holidays we can book (they are only UK coach holidays) anyway i learned that we can't go on the holidays I wanted as too expensive as he is paying for the daughter and family to go on holiday as well as giving her his car.

I should add that I pay for my own holiday and its just him that won't pay for the more expensive holidays (his share)

So I'm wondering if I am indeed bothered. Do I actually want to go with him any more, maybe I should just go on my own? I am actually going with friends in October. So basically should I not be bothered and just let the daughter manipulate him.out of his money while he is vulnerable. Or should I kick up a fuss?

    All comments welcome xxx

  • Hmmmmmmmm…..Helen,this is depressing indeed. But I totally understand your predicament.

Daughters of single fathers can have an almighty grip on them, for lots of reasons, some reasonable, some not.

before tossing all away maybe you could have a meet up and a calm talk and ask him what would he think if you did similar scenarios to him?

It seems a shame to give up

I will write you a pm xxx

  • Oh  What an incredibly difficult situation to find yourself in. I do wonder if you should ask to discuss this calmly all together. Certainly ask BF how he’d feel if the situation was reversed.

Sending calm thoughts, love and hugs xxx

  • I’ve just sorted myself out ready for bed and have discovered that I’ve forgotten a medication, (montelukast, for asthma!) extremely unlike me! So a trip to the chemist in the village to ask for an emergency issue, fortunately I have an old scrip plus my list on my phone. Cuss it! I normally double-check, usually work out a complete week when I return home after a break! However I do have my inhaler with plenty of doses!

  • I’ve sorted myself out ready for bed and found I’ve missed a medication (montelukast for asthma) so my trip tomorrow will be a walk into the village to the pharmacy to ask if I can buy an emergency supply! It’s most unlike me to forget. Fortunately I have plenty if inhalers!
