Moomy
Good morning from the frozen North.
Sad news that dear Graham passed away last week aged 9. He was diagnosed with testicular cancer and died the next day wrapped in his blanket me holding him. He had a wonderful life here with me and I'm grateful for every day.
I've no regrets and he was well until nearly the end.
Probably, Scarlett O'Hara my daughter's piggy is coming to live here. She is slightly overweight but frankly my dear, she doesn't give a damn.
This is a pic of them both xxx
Oh Helen so sorry to hear that. Graham has been a favourite amongst our furry friends on the AWAKE thread! We shall all miss hearing the stories of what he’s been up too!
LP and Bella both send their love and best wishes to you and of course I send a ((((((BIG HUG)))))) xxxxx
Dear Snowy's Mum/Helen,
I am very sorry to hear that Graham has passed. He was a very good age and so well looked after. I shall miss his pics to cheer us up.
I shall have to try to take some pics of my two degus Poppy and Heidi to sharesome time.
Snowys Mum sorry to hear about Graham. Sounds like he had a good life. A Piggy moving in? Where will Scarlett be sleeping; spare bedroom, kitchen
moomy we stayed in Brecon last night and freezing. Driving home was -3.5 though sunny. Back in Swansea now were we at 0 degrees according to car but my garage security camera says 32c as it's in sunshine ! My house is a cold 1950s semi with solid wood floors. We left heating on timed, even though it pained me to pay for CH while away, so house just cold not nobbling but hubby lighting wood burner now.
I had an early Christmas/birthday present of a beautiful sewing machine. I've made re-usable fabric gift bags, a tote bag for my sister as her Xmas gift (we only do token gifts) as she liked the first one I made in class and I had fabric over. I've also been making a cover for a 30 year old foot stool. When we got rid of the suite years ago we kept it as nice size height and the suite I replaced with had two faulty zips on seat cushions so Next came out and replaced but left me these large cushion covers as spares . I've been intending to recover the foot stool ever since. So a couple of days ago I ripped off the zips, was left with 4 large pieces of fabric. Two easily made a box cover for top cushion and the other two I joined together to cover base. I need to find my staple gun to fix in place and I'm waiting for Velcro to arrive to finish top cushion after I've made it smaller. I'm so impressed my machine could handle the upholstery fabric. I bought from a local shop, which was £30 more expensive than Amazon, but he spent ages showing me how it worked. They are also a repair shop so if something goes wrong they are authorised Brother repairers - it has 3 year guarantee. Then he gave me a large bag of threads to get me started . It's a Brother innov-15 so a beginner machine but well spec.
Sadly a cousins husband passed after 18 months of treatment for a GBM4 brain tumour a couple of days ago. 18 months is a long survival time for this tumour; my eldest sister died of same tumour just 1 month after diagnosis. Sadly the survival rate for this tumour hasn't really improved in 40 years.
Sorry to hear about Graham @snowys mum, love your comment about Scarlett O’Hara! @grogg you are so clever! Sorry won’t tag xx
Onwards and flatwards (don't do hills) and keep walking if you can!
My long awaited Botox appt was cancelled at the last minute. Not due to the nurses’ strike as I had feared , but cos the consultant is ill. They have given me another date thank goodness, with the nurse practitioner. Unfortunately it clashes with my eye Hosp appt, already postponed once, but I managed to get through on the phone and have a date in Jan. The phone number on the letter was the wrong one ! Love to all fruitloops xxx
