Owwww Flossie25 if only, if only I was doing late night tidying - its more a case of late night procrastination ...... I really thought I was making headway and then Tik Toc got me - I keep looking at 'how to clips' and then find hours have gone by without me realising. ....
So off I go with my head saying.... this is it, I am going to tidy this room now, once and for all..... I then start moving things to the other side of the room (the side they originally came from).
Then you say sort them into piles - so I've done the butcher, I've done the baker, I've done the home...... whoops that song always gets me hahahah.... so I've done the 'throw' pile, the 'charity' pile and the 'sell' pile!!!! only to then think hmmm could I do a car boot - now then start putting things into box for 'car boot' (pinching things from charity pile). Sit back down and look and re=think it all over again - adding 'no one would want to buy any of this "stuff"!!
Now taking of 'stuff' and you did also call it 'stuff' Flossie - you did and this proves my point......
We buy items from shops .... we call them 'things', we've bought 'things'
We keep them, we keep these 'thing' - until one day without noticing ....
'the things' become 'stuff'! 'Stuff that says they are of no interest to us, its stuff to get rid of, stuff to throw away, stuff to go in the loft hahaha
So my head then goes back on a visual thinking spree of 'is this any good', oww shall I keep it, if I could only get £3 for it then give it to charity - if would take to long to adverts on the marketplaces ..... them I'm well there would be a lot and the £3 would add up...... so then the big talk comes on ..... and would that make a massive difference to your life - or would letting it go make more of an impact....(answers on a postcard).
Sweet moomy I am so pleased to hear your sinuses are feeling slightly better, at least this is a step in the right direction.
My mom had blood test done last week, the Doctor called today and said the kidney function needs to be checked (think they said it was around 30 (?) so mom has to have repeat blood test on Thursday. Now wondering if you can do anything to help kidneys - drinking water (have read that parsley water is good (this is when you boil parsley, drain the water and keep this for drinking) - I've not checked on this yet.
Well this is how bad my brain, memory is - I wrote all of the above then went off and did something else, either thinking I've posted it or it just went out my mind - thank goodness it is still here as I can't see me typing all this out again ..... its bad enough you reading this, mind you it may just send you off to sleep - I mean moomy has already gone - sweet dreams sweet xx
Right Fruit Loops I am going to grab myself a bath - even this is more like a chore these days haha
Sending love and stuff to you all xxxx
Oh WhatHappened ....if your day job isn't writing for a magazine...you need to send that piece to one. It's the most brilliant description of the clutter we accumulate I've read!
I am still sorting mum's ' things'. She has drawers full of bits and pieces, trinkets, boxes, perfumes, book marks, keepsakes I just can't part with or don't know what to do with ( but not a rubbish bin?) and to think most of her house was in a container at my sister's.
Sleep? I can go to bed earlier but look....I'm up now and it's 05.15. It's still dark. My solar garden lights haven't switched off yet.....
We have beautiful weather. I shall watch the news then go for a walk.
This is my favourite time. My footpath goes besides the sunflowers. I'll take some pictures later from the other direction. This is towards the path, over the garden wall, that goes between the yellow and green strips in photo. As you can see, I'm waiting for my new rose to reach the trelis! Next year perhaps?
I hope everyone feels better soon. Summer colds and allergies are unpleasant. Take care all. Thinking of you.
Great description of stuff and things WhatHappened and the art of tidying. I’ve a box of instruction leaflets awaiting my attention. Plus there’s the art of moving things around to fit in elsewhere. Got into loft to sort loads of files/folders. Picked one up and hubby said “someone could use that” and put it back in the box. This is what I’m up against. He forgets I sorted out the good files, took them to charity shop (with other stuff).
it’s a continuous process but done in stages, at the times we sort our cupboards/shelves and as time passes we are able to part with more things.
Enjoy your early morning walk Lacomtekp

Wow, those sunflowers are stunning. Thank you, certainly brightened my day.
Night night Fruit Loops, sleep well and stay safe, plenty of sleepy fairy dust for all who wish
hugs xxx
Moomy
Harvestmoon ....a few more sunflowers for you today. I was a little later and the sun was fully over the hill, shining on them. Plus the other crop.....grapes....marching uphill in perfect straight lines.
Have a good day all. Take care in the coming heat.....lots of liquids( sadly not wine!).....stay out of the sun in the middle part of the day......keep your rooms as dark as possible.....it will help keep you cooler. We already expect 34° today so I've done several jobs early this morning and will relax this afternoon when it's hottest.
Thinking of you all. Karen
Good idea doing jobs early Lacomtekp Sunflowers are so cheerful. See there have been wildfires in various locations.
Really hoping the heatwaves abate. How the seasons have changed.
