seaspirit44 - thank goodness you finally got a bed! My record in A&E is 22 hours before finding a side room - as you say, it's not the quietest of places to try and have a kip! Rest well today!
Leolady56 - glad to hear that you've managed to get home from your shortish stay in Hotel BHS! Take it easy...
GBear - good luck for today - hope everything goes well!
Hi and welcome to - we're all a bit mad in here - the lack of sleep probably doesn't help!
Hugs to everyone else who needs or wants one!
I'm meant to be having bloods and line care done this morning before tomorrow's chemo, but have been up in the night with the Delhi belly. Think it's just an outburst of irritable bowel, although quite why it's flared up now is a mystery! Have phoned the chemo unit to put the appointment off until later, when hopefully I'll be able to leave the bathroom for long enough to get there! They said that they've got norovirus in some of the wards there at the moment, so I DEFINITELY don't want to be hauled in for another stay after tomorrow's chemo, if it goes ahead. Fingers crossed bloods will stay reasonable this time around.
Thanks for all the welcomes, i managed to drop off at 5.30 awake again by 8.
I'm lucky i don't normally struggle with my sleeping but when i start steroids the day before my docetaxel they like to keep me awake. Last chemo today so i'm hoping i'll sleep like a log tonight.
"fruit loops" i think i'll fit in perfect.
Hope this makes you all smile.
My Godson who is 2 1/2 has coped really well with Auntie Shelley not having any hair, its not a problem shes just bald like grandad, but the best he came out with was. I'd facetimed him one morning with a bare head, doesn't faze him. But when i went to his house later i'd put my wig on, when i walked in the door he looked at me strange as if to say, but you had no hair this morning. Anyway we got playing and i got hot so said "I'm going to take my hair off, come with me and i'll show you what it's like" i showed him, explained it's like a hat with hair on it. He was happy with that, i put my wig in my bag and went on to play. Didn't think any more of it till his nana called a bit later one to see him, when he came out with " Nana, do you know Auntie Shelley keeps he hair in her handbag"
He's a star
Pleased you got a bed ...eventually seaspirit44 ... hope all goes well today
hope your gut settles down .. and bloods are ok
Leolady56 pleased you are back home
hope today is a good one
xx
“ The only constant thing in life is change “
Hi
Cathy . I am really sorry to hear about your stomach/ gut thing. I’ve gone to the other side on Cymbalta/ Duloxetine.
If it’s not one thing it’s another!
I’m due my bloods today ( oh goody...) and chemo tablets again tomorrow (ditto).
I saw Oncologist yesterday with my carefully prepared list of questions, which we went through, and he agreed that I could postpone Denosumab injections til I need them.
So onwards with dental filling, hygienist, eye test and possible eye op ( he said chemo could be on hold while that happens), also I can now make an appointment at Guys Hospital regarding a Mandibular Assisted Device, to realign my jaw to see if this will help to prevent sleep apnea.
I duly forgot however, to ask him about Hyperbaric Oxygen therapy and whether I should have a flu jab between chemo cycles and if so on which of the free 5 days. Annoyed with myself that I forgot those 2 points!
Oh well there’s always next month.
Are you having bloods done today too?
I hope you feel a bit better today.
Love Judithx
