  • Hi , congratulations on reaching your final Chemo!! Yayyyyyyyyyyyy!!

Just to give you a run down. My very first Zoladex was actually done by one of the nurses at the hospital. Then they prescribed me a few to take away, because I was going from a London hospital home to my parents in Devon. So I only had a temporary GP at that point!

Once set up with a proper GP, my Zoladex was/is done by one of the trained nurses (they can't all do them) and then the next injection is ordered on the system.....well usually! But not so sure about this one! But I might be wrong! Hopefully.

As its your last Chemo, a certain little chap would like to join you! He's great company and does enjoy a good celebration afterwards.......

LP will hold your hand and if left unattended WILL disrupt the entire Chemo ward! Which will annoy the staff but give the patients a giggle! Take care Hun. Thinking of you xxxx

  • I KNOW!,,, it has been a long haul!

Thanks for giving me an idea of protocol for Zoladex...have been told I can swap to a 3 month version after a couple of monthly ones which ‘should’ make it easier....

SO excited about having LP to join me....we can be mischievous together Grin. I will update on his exploits....Rofl

  • , I just wanted to say I was chatting to my BCN a few weeks ago and she mentioned that one of her other patients had decided to try the 3 monthly injection! This lady found she had awfiul side effects with the 3 monthly that she hadn't had on the monthly ones! Obviously we are all different and you may be fine. But thought I would mention it.

I know origionally the 3 monthly injection was used for prostate cancer patients. My feeling is that women have a monthly cycle throughout their adult lives, so a monthly jab seems more logical. But maybe that's a post worth starting? To see if anyone on here is having the 3 monthly one?

Certainly NOT trying to scare you! But I think it's nice to know these things so you can make an informed decision. Xxxxx

  • Well LP mostly behaved himself! He spotted the nut selection in the tea and coffee area and made a swift exit whilst I was plugged into drip. When I managed to escape to pull him by his green pants out of the display it was a little too late...he lay pot belly up on my lap for the rest of the treatment...sleeping! To top it off, as we waved goodbye to the lovely nurses , he pulled a buzzer from his pocket and secretly made several buzzing sounds....at which point all nurses jumped up to try and work out who’s patients drip was finished!! We did giggle as his secret stash of nuts proceeded to fall out of his pants....

LP returned to his rightful home....he won’t need any tea! Thank you for lending him to me!

T3 now complete. I hope all went okay with you...
