  • That’s really tough, I moved back from Italy in 2004, still married then, but that was hard too. Life is never simple. I remind myself daily how lucky I am, most honestly, but sometimes it’s still tough. Where are you coming back to in the U.K.? X

  • Sorry I posted my last post before I saw this! See no evil Yes things are more expensive here, I’ve looked at wales too because I’ve holidayed a lot there but I worry it’s too isolated from my parents and friends who aren’t nearby x

  • Hi  !!

(Sorry i am in the middle if an Easter egg at the moment)
Well we had s lovely time in Church this morning!
I was sitting at the back and singing up.
Sarah bless hercame in late in her w/chair.Everyone has to do it once!the Vicar gave her a later Eucarist after which she was glowing.
I watched the little ones go up (as I was at the back)and it was so sweet. There they were, a little boy wearing a delightfully home -made Easter bonnet,a small girl in her caliper ,another in her Easter coat, and the tinies. They were given some fern in water to sprinkle on us ( like the Vicar was doing)and I got well and truly happily and enthusiastically re-baptised, by several children.
Then a group of children sang at the front,a jazzy little number, and got a big clap. Then when the Vicar said to us to sing the last victorious chorus as loud as we liked, the whole of the back of the Church broke out and clapping and appreciation! I think Revival might be breaking out.
The Church was filled and the Vicar was flurrying in his Easter Cope ,setting out more chairs with the Volunteers, and after the Service started there was a crowded line at the North Door still waiting to come in.
The Walk of Witness on Friday was lovely too,and quite an experience.
Well on Thursdsy I went with my old friend to see Midsummer Nights’ Dream”it was rather “modern” but fun.
We had a seat in the “gods”and I had a bit of vertigo on the steps down so I went up rather quickly .
At the top was an older man and he politely stood aside and said I got up there like a spring hare.I was just explaining when I realised i knew him he was a nurses father .
So i went to introduce him to my friend and realsed I had forgotten his name! So I looked over my shoulder and muttered” this is Andrew” and he said”…James” it was ok he has early dementia and I reckon all of us at this age are forgetting names and words and I think we all understand.
I hope you all have a bery happy Easter ,
    With love Violet xxx
