  • That sounds like a nightmare. I moved my Mother into sheltered accommodation near me. She had Alzheimer's I later discovered. It is about the money as well. This is elder abuse, them accusing you is just protecting their own backs.

A camera sounds like a good way to catch evidence. Xxx

  • Night night Fruit Loops, sleep well and stay safe, plenty of sleepy fairy dust for all who wish

  • Happy anniversary of being awake haha. Just been replying to someone on another posts who is working and suffering. 6 mths after diagnosis and treatment for breast cancer is early days. I have realised that too.

At this age and being retired it's not as hard as someone younger, for me anyway. Although I have noise box here at present and he was awake last night. Kept going to the toilet and slamming 2 doors. I am not complaining, just the way it is.

I like the lucky pants, we are lucky, so many of these useful and necessary threads were started years ago. Thanks to Macmillan and all the contributors.

The sun is shining Sun with face

  • Happy 6th Anniversary of this Awake thread and thank you Londonlass for starting it. I only dip in and out myself at the moment but you fruit loops are always there for me when I need you and I hope you all realise I am here for you too.

Grogg I am shocked by the revelations about the so called carers. How can anyone go into such an area of work if they don't have compassion and patience?

Sabrina22 I empathise with the lady on the bother thread. Even though I am over a year since RT finished?, I still have issues with letrozole side effects and pain. I am finding it tough going working and finding time to be kind to myself and rest.  I was awake most of last night again.

I must get up and have a shower now

  • Happy Birthday Awake and LP....

( I have neurology on Wednesday if you're ready for a long trip and a little ....or large....patisserie)

  • My son has carers and we are lucky he is with a good care agency. They are so vulnerable, I keep a close eye, he is medically vulnerable as well. It is well documented about problems and abuses in the care industry, for disabled and elderly. Many are not visited by family and friends.

You are right though, it starts at the top. Good supervision and open door policy helps. When my Mother ended up in a Nursing Home I could see how it was, I visited her most days. When I couldn't visit I tried to get friends to visit. She had 10wks from diagnosis to passing away.

Sorry but it's a can of worms. I could probably write a long essay about the care industry. My son is lucky, I have 2 friends whose Autistic grown up kids are needing to be moved dye to failures in care.

It is sleep related in some ways, they are in a very sad state.

  • Happy Birthday,Awake thread!!
