PS @Snowys Mumis there a little romance going on with Scarlett?she looks everso preened and not a little enticing x

PPS Sorry  yes..it is a minefield trying to work out what is best….you are a very loving daughter xx

  • Lovely to see pics of Miss Scarlett,  . And all the pics that everyone posts too.

, I too love Skechers shoes, they are so comfy (and my podiatrist says they help!) I’ve got a pair always ready in the hall to slip on before I go outdoors.

Im going to be fine without Henry,  as I’ve lots to do. He hates vacuum cleaners (tries to fight and bite them) and so I’ve been super caring and though I’ve cleaned as much as possible, the floors really do need doing! Plus he’s a tie and there are things I need to do and go to, I will be able to. I’ve got a day volunteering on Sunday which I don’t do when Henry is in my care, it would be too long a day for him.

    Hugs xxx

  • I'm shocked.  A friend just told me that she walked in on one of the carers who comes into her mother who has dementia screaming at her holding a tin to her face asking if this is what she wants for lunch.  This is the third time she's had cause to complain to the care agency about the staff they send.  She's paying almost £30 an hour for care - direct payments from Social Services plus top up.   Now the agency are saying she's being racist about last carer instead of addressing issues. Social Services say nothing they can do.   I've e told her to put in cameras - she can get a mobile Wi-Fi dongle to connect to as it will not only help her see if staff abusive but if her mother should fall.  My friend only child nearby and calls twice a day to get her mother out of bed and have breakfast and out her to bed at night,  She's exhausted, her mother is not yet at care home stage  but she's not sure how much longer she can cope.

  • I need to get exercising now   Can empathise with “walking through treacle”  fatigue/tiredness is awful. Looking back I wasn’t good for months. I hope you re-energise soon.

  • Me too   Hope you had a good bike ride. Scarlett looking content.

  • What an awful situation   That’s elder abuse and care provider/SS should address it. Good advice to get cameras. Document everything chronologically.

  • That is just so bad,  and disturbing to hear. Hidden cameras are a good idea. Or even ‘baby monitors’ for just speech. It’s abuse, pure and simple. However, care is hard to get as it pays so low. The care companies cream off the money and the carers themselves get not a lot more than minimum wage. I’ve witnessed that in the last 4-5 weeks that hubs had carers. At least one couldn’t regularly afford to run her car, and another had such worn out shoes, I felt so sorry. I was lucky in that they were all lovely to hubs and visited after he had died to offer condolences which was sweet and caring above and beyond.

  • I agree most carers undervalued but these rogue businesses being indifferent to the quality of staff they employ is shocking.  I told her I wouldn't hide cameras I'd tell carers here are cameras for her mothers safety as at least that would deter abuse.
