    Hi Penny,

sorry if it looked like I was being nosey or abrupt in my previous post. I asked because I thought you were after something specific and wasn't sure what you needed lol. I live in Wellington, is that anywhere near you? I was diagnosed last August with a Malignant Melanoma on my inner right ankle and was treated wonderfully by all the staff at Musgrove. Thankfully after surgery/skin graft and sentinal node biospy and then a punch biopsy on another 'suspect mole' I have been given the all clear and gradually getting back to normal. I understand how you are feeling. It came as a shock to me and my family that I had cancer and the waiting for tests/results/treatment is really hard and everyone on here will know exactly how you are feeling about that!
Feel free to send me private messages if you want someone to talk to who is 'local'.

    Take care

Yes, Mr Ramus did my surgery. He is not the most approachable man but knows what he is doing. You are in good hands. I have a large lumpectomy scar under my breast and one under my arm for the lymph node clearance. That was on 24th March. What op are you having? What I would say is that you should not expect too much of yourself afterwards. I am a fairly fit active person and was expecting a quicker recovery. Everyone is different though. I am still not driving due to lack of movement in my arm. That is frustrating. Take all offers of help from family and friends.

I was very frightened before my op too. Make sure you have someone with you until you go off to theatre. I wasn't given a pre-op sedative, so it helped to have someone to talk to, to distract me a bit. When I came back from theatres I didn't want to talk to anyone!

Keep in touch, any time, Carole x

@penny321 I live in Somerset & was recently referred to Mugrove Park Hospital where I underwent various tests & procedures in the Breast Care Clinic. I have been diagnosed with Triple Negative Breast Cancer & now under the care of the Oncology Team. I had my first session of chemotherapy on Friday 9th July 2021. I have a further 3 sessions to come. A few weeks after chemo has finished, I will have surgery.

I would be grateful for any advice you can give me.

    Jen
