Can anyone please recommend an unperfumed body lotion suitable to use during chemo?

Thanks

    Hi Jess,

I'm using E45 lotion and lotion for extra dry skin although I find that bathing in E45 emollient is the best thing for my skin. I also have an E45 overnight hand cream that is proving to be good as well.

I'm struggling with facial moisturiser as I usually use either body shop or L'occitane.

Hi.. I've started radiotherapy today and was told  not to use any body lotion they gave me a tube of Aqua Max to use on the skin to help the drying of the skin . no deodorant either unless it's picrok or bionsin. I got mine in boots .. Good Luck

  • Hi Jess. I used manuka honey skin cream. It's fabulous but be careful as there are lots of fakes out there. Buy only from a chemist or reputable health food shop. Best if made in New Zealand. For my face, I was lucky enough to win a pot of Guerlain face cream a few years ago which I'd never used. However, it's really expensive to buy.

Hi Jess, I used Aveeno cream and lotion, which you can get from Boots, and was ery good. Also i started my radiotherapy today and was told to use E45 cream twice a day

Good luck with your treatment xx

  • I use a Neutrogena skin care, when I remember, as it's really good and non greasy. It was especially useful for my head under my wig and my arms where the PIC line dressing was. The nurses were recommending light massage with light body lotion to help veins.

Other than that Elizabeth Arden face cream is what I've always used and it still worked on my sensitive skin.

I have a feeling you can have foot therapy free while you're on chemo but I forgot to ask but that would have helped when I moved to the taxane cycles, large patches of skin looked like they were going to fall off and I was already having to wrap my toenails up with a blob of savlon cream to prevent them being pulled off by my socks.

It really did feel like I was falling apart for a while but everything seems to have bounced back, just hoping the cancer doesn't bounce back as quick!!!

    Hi

When I started radiotherapy I was recommended to use E45, however this cream did not agree with my skin. I was then told to use a cream I'd used before so I used aveeno cream or lotion after checking it was ok to use and it made my skin much better. I also used this for chemo.

    Take care

Don't know what happened to my response!

Oncology nurses recommended Udderly cream with urea available on Amazon when I was shedding skin.  On next pre assessment, Oncologist prescribed some for me.

    Wirks really well for me.

    best of luck

Using essential oils won't do you bad, you can also combine it with other lotions and creams. For example, calamus essential oil is the one I really like, the scent is amazing, though you can choose any other oil.
