My husband has just been diagnosed with stage 4 brain cancer and we are both absolutely devastated and terrified. He was diagnosed with stage 4 skin cancer just over a year ago and has successfullPraymanaged to beat that with immunotherapy but unfortunately it has now spread to his brain. He has an emergency appointment tomorrow (4th November) at Queens square hospital where they said they wouPray do one big blast of radiotherapy (stereotactic?) and then 4 treatments of combined immunotherapy named ipilimumab and nivolumab. We just cannot believe his bad luck. He is also a type 1 diabetic.Praylease Pray let me know if there is any chance of a good outcome?

  • Hi  and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.

I'm sorry to read that you've recently found out that your husband's skin cancer has spread to his brain. I hope you don't mind me asking if his skin cancer was melanoma? If so can I recommend that you join us over in the melanoma group as you'll then connect directly with others who may have had the same treatment as your husband.

If you'd like to do that, just click on the link I've created and, once you've joined, you can start a new post in the same way as you did here and join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.

It would be great if you could put something about your husband's diagnosis and treatment to date into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
