My husband was diagnosed with brain cancer in June.  He had radiosurgery in July and all seemed to be going well.  However he had a seizure in September and we were told the cancer had returned and there was nothing more the hospital could do,  following the seizure he lost the use of his left side, so now he is in a Hospital bed in our lounge.  He gets very confused and now he is eating and drinking very little.  He also sleeps a lot.

Has anyone else had these symptoms?  I’m now worried because he will not take food.

  • Hi Saucer

welcome to the online community. So sorry to hear about your husband.

My own husband was diagnosed with a grade 4 brain tumour in Sept 2020 so I can empathise to an extent with the journey you've been on.

I'm no medical expert but I'd suggest that you talk to your husband's medical team about your concerns. From what I've read personally, sleeping more and loss of appetite can be common symptoms.

This group is a great source of support of folk who "get it" so perhaps one of the others will be able to comment with more personal experience than I have to offer.

Macmillan Support Services also offer lots of information, support, financial guidance or just someone to listen. It’s free to call 0808 808 0000. Most services are available 8am to 8pm, 7 days a week. Have a look by Clicking here to see what is available. it might be worth a call.

It's so hard to know what symptoms we need to worry about, isn't it?

Stay strong. Sending you a huge virtual hug.

    Love n hugs

    Wee Me xx
