We found out very recently that mum has brain cancer after she had lung cancer last year. Has this happened to anyone on this forum? Everything gives a time limit on this. I’d really like to hear any personal experience until we know more x

  • Hi  and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope to you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.

I'm sorry to read that your mum has recently been diagnosed with brain cancer after having a lung cancer diagnosis last year.

I haven't been in that position but noticed that your post hadn't had any replies yet. Responding to you will 'bump' it back to the top of the discussion list again.

While you're waiting for replies, it would be great if you could put something about your mum's diagnosis and treatment to date into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.

  • Hello, my mum has lung cancer with brain metastases. She was diagnosed in may and then they found the mets at the end of June. Shes been of dexamathaxone and had whole brain radiotherapy which up to now seems to be doing the trick. The dr tells us every time we see him how quickly things can change though. Sorry to hear about your mum xx

  • I have brain metastasis from cervical cancer. A scary place to be. x
