Starting chemo

My partner just coming to end of third treatment of 4. He's 76. Honestly I'm not him but I do know everyday is different and it's not that bad. Make sure you take the antisickness meds and take paracetamol if you get pins and needles. Every 4 hrs if it's bothering you. Try keep active and positive. Side effects like diarrhoea not so bad - just be careful and eat plain food eg not curry or spicy. Bear in mind everyone different and if you can arrange for a treat for urself in between treatments. ️Much luck.

Although I don't have a stoma, I can honestly say that the thought of having this chemo is far worse than the reality, so please do not worry. Many of the side effects they tell you about can be very mild or you won't get them at all. I barely noticed anything on the first cycle. They do say your hair is likely to thin rather than losing it all. Mine is now so thin that you can see my scalp but eveyone is different. At least with only having 3 months it hopefully won't give you too much chance of side effects accumulating too much.

I know it's been said many times, but please take all your meds exactly as prescribed. Do not wait until you may feel sick as it is easier to prevent sickness before it starts than to try to stop it after. I have religiously taken mine as directed and never felt sick, which had been my main worry before having chemo.
